On the contrary, it's only big fanboys who gives a f**k about the bonus material. Myself, alongside 90% of the people who will purchase Spider-Man 3 on DVD will buy it for the movie, and in truth, that's the whole f**king point--to buy the god damn movie.

Yeah, I understand, you're pissed. But in truth you are in the minority. Most people who don't post on this message board could care less about special features.

That's true. I really don't care about special features, I think I was just waiting for something to piss me off so I could convince myself not to waste money on the trilogy.

Sony's most likely cheapening out on the Blu-ray releases of SM-1 and SM-2/2.1 because what is it they do best when the next sequel is released on DVD and Blu-ray? Re-release the first two movies as BD-50s with all the extras intact, and package those two along with SM-3 and SM-4.

The reason Sony gave Spider-Man 3 the same 2-disc treatment on Blu-ray is because it's a very popular movie and people will definitely raise a snit if the Blu-ray came with less of the features that the DVD edition had. Plus the first disc will be a BD-50 to accomodate the two lossless tracks and MPEG-4 encoding, but the second will be a BD-25 because it's an extras-only disc.

Aaahhhh...another reason im glad im just a DVD owner and dont bother with Blue-Ray or any of that stuff.

I get my great Spidey 3 dvd and plus bonus features...awesome.

SM3 on UMD.

Foist: what is that damn skeleton everybody's talking about?

Secoind: Sony is Double Dipping Queen. You can be too damn sure that, in the near future, they'll re-release SM 1, 2 and 2.5 on separate Blu-Ray releases, extras and all.

They're just doing that for SM3 so people can watch all three movies in one sitting for now, if that's possible.

I'm getting SM3 for the movie AND special features. I think it would be pointless to get it just for the movie.

There's an unconfirmed rumour going around that Eddie Brock's skeleton has been digitally removed from the explosion for the DVD release.

has this been posted yet? this is utter bull****.. the spiderman trilogy on bluray has no extras what so ever. none, spider man and 2 and just movies.. what the hell is the point of the big space if they dont use it??
first no ultimate edition, could be wrong tho, and now who the hell is gonna pay like over 100 canadian dollars for basically spiderman 3 and stripped down versions of spiderman 1 and 2, to me thats not really worth it if all they are are sharper versions . i was really hoping they would step it up a notch, especially since a number of movies are hd dvd exclusive now, this is there big gun and there screwing it up. what do you guys think?

wow i had just chose to buy bluray movies because of the spiderman trilogy and the harry potter series. oh well looks like i wont buy any bluray stuff yet after all.

Harry Potter will be on HDDVD...

yea i think id rather have it on bluray though seeing as a already have a ps3 but i just might wait until one of the formats win to make my decision. sony blew it big time to me by not putting any extras on spidey 1 and 2 DAMMIT

I'm also really annoyed at the lack of extras on the blu-ray trilogy!! Ive not actually bought any blu-rays yet coz im pretty determined to see who wins this stupid format war before i waste my money but this was gonna be my first purchase!!

Dont think I'll bother now, why should i pay more and get less than the dvd!!! this trilogy was the sort of killer exclusive that could have won the format war for sony and theyve messed up once again!!

Obviously people buy the Blu Rays or whatever for the film, but if I'm paying top dollar I want my money's worth.

Well...I just buy regular DVDs anyway, so I couldn't care less about this HD vs. Blu-Ray war.

Same here, until we get a winner of this format war, Im sticking to DVDs lol

Preach it. I'm in no hurry to start buying the films I already own in a new format. I know I know....I don't HAVE to, but certain films (Spider-Man, Star Wars, LoTR, etc.) just beg for the "High Def" treatment. I swore I wouldn't rebuy alot of movies on DVD when it took the throne from VHS, but I did, anyways.

Either way, I look forward to seeing Spidey 3 on DVD.
