Comics Official Summers Brothers Thread

^There was a nother possible reference, if you give me some time, I could probably find it.

there might be who knows i'd still like to see if there was if anyones got anything about gambit

Here's a question out of the blue...

We all know Vulcan's an annoying omega level EMO brat, so let's keep him out of it. And I know Cyke's and Alex' powers cancel each other out.

But which one of those two can dish out the most damage?

I know Cyke's powers regenerate more quickly, but in terms of raw power?

I remember Cyke doing some pretty serious damage to Onslaught/Apocalypse, but I've pretty much only read x-books with Cyke and Wolvie in the same team, so I'm not too familiar with Alex' feats.

Well?

P.S. Oh, and I'm not trying to start a flame war. I'm just wondering whether canon ever hinted at an answer to that question.

Hmmm. I think they might be fairly equal in power. I think Alex might have a slight edge but it would be tough to call

Okay, I'm willing to compromise. How about we have Gambit, Vulcan and Adam X as Summers brothers?

I just want to leave Gambit out of it.:csad:

He's already been raped enough.:cmad:

Mmm...

Dunno, considering how Gambit recently got shafted, give the guy a break and don't associate him with Gabe. :D

Okay The summers brother
X-Men (2nd series) #23: Mr. sinister tells scott he has another brother.
The adam x is supposse to be the half brother but that gets washed out because Fabian Nicieza leaves the book before he could finishs or whatever.
the plot line dangles for like forever.
Everyone thinks it's gambit he has the whole sinster thing going and kinda has the scott and chris thing going as well.
In x-men the end. Chris claremont makes gambit an summers by some clone **** but it's non-canon
Then ed Brubaker comes out with deadly genesis and Vulcans the "Third summers brother"

but after all this were still at the same place we were in 1993 we just have another brother. but sinster said brothers not third brother
but sinster probaly new about vulcan he would of known that kathiren was going to have another child and when vulcan escaped the shiar on earth he was in the sewers for a year i think.
but ya i just want an asnwer on gambit and adam x

to give Scott a 4th brother now would be overkill. The plot effectively ended with Deadly Genesis and I hope they dont revisit it again

Too bad Cyke won't be around to see Gabe croak or get a lesson in humility. Oh well.

imo, they're pretty evenly matched, as far as raw power goes. cyclops has more precision.

did anyone read the deadly genesis what-if that came out last month? i thought it was really interesting. it was, "what if the original team died and the second team lived?" ... with some further complications. oh, and [fangirl] cyclops looked really hot with long hair. like, really. [/fangirl]

Mmm. Just read Civil War X-Men.

Cyke at full power overloaded Bishop after, what, 5-10 seconds? Resulting blast cut through a new wave sentinel like butter. :D

I'm guessing Havok never tried blasting the hell out of something that big?

each of the brothers has control over different types of energy.
cyclops uses a concussive force, which basically is a big punch, with no actual heat behind it
havok uses a heated, almost plasma type of force
vulcan can manipulate the energy around him, but not really generate his own (originally) but now due to the events of m-day, he has acquired all sorts of energy due to darwin's presence in his body. even once darwin is gone, vulcan retains that energy.

if vulcan were to be depowered to his original state, i think here would be a sense of balance between the brothers.

also, on a side note, if cyclops had not been injured in his fall from he air plane, he could probably cause more damage than havok could.

i don't think vulcan is going to "go good" any time soon, nor do i think he should. it would make this whole epic space battle and deadly genesis pointless. maybe he'll end up with sinister in the cluster**** that is supposed to be an x-men crossover this summer.

Well, I think that they're trying to say the whole plane thing didn't factor into anything with the current astonishing arc, and instead was all just Cyclops holding it back. So hopefully we'll see an answer to this question soon.

Another 2 days and we might get another piece of the puzzle. :woot:

While Josh's move may seem like one hell of a 180, it's been hinted throughout the years (last instance was X-Men civil) that even without his visor, Cyclops rarely ever let out 'full power' optic blasts.

While saying the brain damage has nothing to do with it was quite the shocker :wow: , the vague notion of some sort of uncounscious psionic block erected by Cyke himself was always there.

And yes, I can't wait to see how this pans out. :woot:
