Official Tom Clancy's The Division

Now this is just my personal opinion after playing the beta, but IMHO, I'm not keen on The Division being an always online multiplayer game. I feel like it should be a single-player experience with a regular story campaign, and after that's over, you can play in those co-op or online missions, the Dark Zone, etc.

.

Well TBH, you can pretty much play it like that. I mean outside of the DZ and certain hubs, you'll never run into another player if you don't want to. There really is no 'multiplayer' unless you go looking for it.

I don't mind the online aspect since it allows for co-op without any loading.

But I am very interested to see what happens if the PSN is down or something. Does tat just make the game completely unplayable;le?

yesh they stated this in video interviews and article. there shouldn't be a problem with you playing a solo experince And no one will interfere with this. the only people you ever meet will be in the public hub and the dark zone which is the pvp area . but on missions in pve story content there no one absolutely no one esle in the game . this also why the director keep stating this isn't an MMO due to this fact.

Yeah its an always online game so no PSN/Xbox Live then you wont be able to play anything at all in it.

You HAVE to get it man. I know Makavelli and DacEric are getting it so we can deff use the fourth to help us own the Dark Zone. I think you'll dig the game a lot man.
Sorry missed this Pat, just going through old quote notifications. Guess I'll have to think about getting it now lol (have hardly touched Halo 5 and Battlefront in the last few weeks despite getting both of those at launch too). I won't be able to give much time to it right now but it will be worth it just for when I can team up with you guys.

Haha sweet. We played for like 7 hours last night, well Makavelli didn't, I don't know why that bum didn't join up with us haha.

I can't wait to experience some of these high level raids/missions. Last night me and my team of 3 really struggled with a level 6 mission on hard. But struggled In a good way. We really had to use tactics to stop the enemy from flanking us. We used distract techniques to get the best lines on the enemy, it was an awesome co op experience.

so what kind of game is this?

is it an online, FPS, MMO type game with RPG elements like Destiny?

is there a character creator and are there different classes to choose from?

is there a single player story mode campaign or is it solely multiplayer?

It's a 3rd person Destiny set in NY after a massive biological attack. That's the easiest way to explain it.

There's SP in the sense u can do just about all of the game by yourself, but you're still connected to a persistent online world.

Yea there's a character creator but no classes in the traditional sense. You designate skill paths as you play. No need to create a class or be stuck in said class as you can swap your abilities at will

Pretty disappointed with the character creator. Seriously, if you're going to add that to your game, make it worthwhile. There are so few options that it's pretty much pointless.

I had a huge problem getting the game to start...like a lot of people have shared, using that laptop to "verify" your identity at the start of the game before you can do anything was a unforgivable nightmare. I fought with it for an hour, trying all sorts of things (logging out, leaving the area, fast traveling, match making, etc). When there's that massive of a bug five minutes into the game, you have a problem. It's really left a bad taste in my mouth.

Thats pretty stupid, considering it was just server issues that are now fixed. If you cant get over that, its just because you're looking for an excuse to dismiss the game, and thats not a very good excuse, at all. I didnt have any problems with "verifying" my agent and I was there minute one of launch. Just experienced the standard connectivity issues just about every major online game goes through night one.

I played it for a couple of hours last night. A bit bummed that I finally reached the area where the Beta starts, since this will be my third time playing through it, but I did opt to do more exploring instead and my god this game looks amazing. I actually saw the building that is supposed to be where my job is, so it was pretty weird coming into work today, but I can't wait to get back in the game tonight.

I also connected with my brother for a mission and he really sucks lol I had to revive him like 5 times. But he seems to be liking the game so that's a good thing.

Seriously? Its "stupid" that a server issue caused many players to not be able to play the game on day 1? It's "stupid" that that fact bothers me? Plenty of games have server issues from time to time, sure, but to have those problems right from the start? Please. It has nothing to do with me "looking for problems"; I wouldn't have preordered the game if that were the case. I'm not saying the game sucks or will suck because of it; I merely said "this happened; I didn't like it". Don't be an ass.

Most "online" games have problems on day 1, its not a big deal imo as long as its address within a day or so.

can you dual-wield guns?

can you use melee weapons?

Dual wielding is better for the first person experience, not sure it would work as well in a third-person shooter.

Ok the game informer live stream was uploaded to Youtube and is below the Epn.tv Lets play above.

And here's how the Division doing below.

And one of the overall top four most successful new IP launches.

The Division has sold through more copies in its first 24 hours of availability than any previous title in Ubisoft history, the company announced.

The game also set Ubisoft records for total digital full game sales in a single day across all platforms, including PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The company said that with The Division, it now has three of the top four most successful new game brand launches in the history of the industry. (Ubisoft lists Destiny, Watch Dogs, and Assassin’s Creed as the other three, based on NPD, GFK Chart Track, and internal estimates.)
“The launch of The Division is a tremendous achievement for Ubisoft, and demonstrates our unrivalled capacity to create fantastic new game brands and transform them into entertainment blockbusters,” said Ubisoft co-founder and CEO Yves Guillemot.

“This is a momentous day for Ubisoft, but more importantly it marks the start of millions of players’ enduring engagement in The Division’s game world, which we are confident they will love.”

The Division launched for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on March 8.
