Why the hell would you use CGI for that? Man, I've been critical as hell of Routh's performance over the years, but after seeing this, it makes me almost feel bad for him. How the hell do you play a character when the director doesn't even trust you to wear an undershirt correctly?

Because originally, the scene played like this:
Clark runs into the alley, does the shirt rip, only to remember that he wasn't wearing his costume.

he superspeeds back to the Daily Planet and has his suit in his luggage.

He then has to make the decision that he was going to became Superman again.

Superman returns was a completely different movie before Warner Bros recut it.

Pretty cool seeing trailer 3 on the big tv like that. I knew it wasn't going to be new footage and honestly expected a short tv spot or something so them playing a full trailer is awesomeness. Can't complain about anything honestly, they gave a ton of Man of Steel commercials through the program and then the trailer. That's amazing exposure for the movie!
