Yeah, you know Dana's got to be happier than a pig in **** right now.

Undoubtably, I'm sure at next weeks pre or post-UFC 116 press conference he'll get asked something about the Fedor fight & I'm sure he'll have something to say.

I remember he said actually questioned a MMA reporter of some sort by saying, if Fedor fights one of these guys like Rogers or Werdum & loses. What does that type of thing do to his supposed 'legacy'. I'm sure he isn't intending to be insulting to those fighters however neither are exactly the most well rounded fighters. One is a grappling beast with little standup & the other is like a glorified Kimbo with little to no ground game. Neither are exactly forces in the HW division (in MMA as a whole) so losing to Werdum has actually put a bigger dent in Fedor's record/legacy than a lose to someone like Carwin, Lesnar, Velasquez, Couture, Mir or someone like that would have.. I personally think anyway.

Ahh well, onto Carwin - Lesnar, that fight is gonna be a war.

This doesn't really have anything to do with the UFC per se, but I had my first MMA fight tonight. Won at 2:45 in the first round by TKO (ground and pound). I'll post the vid as soon as my friend gets it online.

*high fives*

Werdum went down on his own, right hook from Fedor missed. First triangle attempt fell apart, but Fedor stayed in the same position so it could be reapplied?? rematch: pay per view...

*high fives*
Congrats!
Nice work man, what weight you fight at, which country/company etc

Thanks

I fought at 155 (lost 30 lbs for the fight, in 2 months), and it was just some local promotion down here in New Mexico. It's called Combat Extreme. Real *****ebag promoter, me and my coach both had the urge to hurt him whenever he was around lol.

EDIT: This is me at weigh ins, after sweating out 9 lbs that day. Not fun lol.

More power to you!! sounds like a lot of weight to lose though.

The first ten came off pretty easy. I needed to get down anyway, I spent a few months being really broke and having to eat really cheap, horrible food so I got a little bigger than I should be lol. From now on, I'm gonna be way more strict and not let myself get over 170-175.

It's difficult to shed alot of weight at once, generally the rule is if you eat less/better & exercise more/better the weight will just fall off you.

I've been occassionally hitting the gym/swimming & doing various other sports since I left school 6 years ago, however only within the last year have I started taking it a little more seriously & going more actively ie 4-6 times per week with a set plan. Anyway, it wasn't until about 3 months ago I actually altered my diet a little. I'm not strict or anything as it isn't like I'm training for a weigh in or sport, if I want pizza I'll eat pizza.. but I actually found more things that I liked to eat that were better for me. I also naturally eat very little junk food in terms of crisps, chocolate etc so I suppose that helps.

Since I've tweaked my diet the weight has fallen off me, I was 184 in May & I'm now 168 and I'm basically the same shape I was 3 months ago except the muscle I did have is actually showing better. I'm not a big mofo nor am I immensely ripped, best way I can describe my body is athletically normal.

Point being, I'd probably say that if your gonna fight at 155 your natural weight when you are not training shouldn't be anything more than 15lbs more otherwise you'll not make weight comfortably.

Congrats again on the win, post a link to the fight when you get it online till I have a ganders.

Hopefully you get the chance to be on TUF if you keep winning. That would be some good exposure for you as a fighter. What gym do you train out of? If you're in New Mexico you too can train with top level fighters while simultaneously being hated on the internet!:hehe:

So after the pretty shocking upset last night I had to wonder to myself if Fedor really is more a myth than a reality. Based on his record and the context of his wins and opponents you have to conclude that Fedor is still the best MMA fighter of all time, but not by the insurmountable margin that we like to think, very far from it in fact. And that his record, while by no means "can free," is hardly the dumping ground that haters like to claim.

I train at Undisputed Fitness in Santa Fe. My coach is Tait Fletcher, who came up out of Jackson's. Us and Jackson's consider each other all teammates. One of my jiu jitsu coaches tried out for TUF this season but they didn't pick him cuz apparently his personality wasn't entertaining enough for a reality show. *****in' dope ass fighter though. Real badass.

Ok, I got it converted over to Youtube, so here ya go.

Fixed it for you. You don't have to embed the URL, just the combination of numbers and letters at the end of the URL.

Nice top control btw.

I just read that apparently the main rumor is that Quinton Jackson is set to fight Antônio Rogério Nogueira next around UFC 119/120

If that matchup does come off, I can't see anything other than a win for Rampage. Even moreso after Nogueira's very poor performance against Jason Brilz which he should have lost by a unanimous decision.. instead somehow 2 moron judges said he'd won the fight & he took it on a split decision.

Yeah seems like judges have some terrible decisions these days.

My thoughts on the fights tommarrow.
Brock lesnar vs Shane carwin.
I think Brock has better wrestling, but I think Shane has more KO power and he finds a way to beat guys, also I just learned Brock lesnar has one size smaller gloves than carwin, I remember they made such a big deal about brocks glove size when he first started in ufc. Hopefully it's a good fight.

Chris leben vs yoshihiro akiyama, chris will definately be going for that one power shot, akiyama will try to be avoiding and landing some good shots and kicks.
Whoever wins that should be on the way to a title.

My picks for tomorrow night:

Lytle by decision. Pellegrino by decision. Soszynski by decision. Leben by KO. Carwin by KO.

Should be an awesome night of fights. Can't wait.

All the fighters look good. Brock especially - very defined and lean-looking at the weight he's carrying.

Hey, maybe the fact that he was so heavy and had a big gut had something to do with the 20 lbs. or so of pus they got to scrape out of his abdomen, instead of O TEH ROIDZ.

Just a working hypothesis! lulz!
