Cain is a strong SOB! He stood up to the bully.. Brock freezes when he gets hit in the face.. I would have loved to seen a second round but still loved it!

WTF is wrong with Gonzaga? This guy pisses me off immensely. Heres a guy who I believe I read before that he won what was essentially the FIFA World Cup of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2005 and yet he seemingly ignores what is his biggest strength.

That highlight reel Mirko Cro Cop KO went to his head, because he is giving fighters.. particularly someone like Brenden Schaub the fight they want by standing & throwing with them. Fair enough it's entertaining & it will win him a popularity contest or two as a fighter who brings it.. but really he should be utilising his far superior grappling advantage over people like Schaub.

He just doesn't fight smart & until he does he'll never grow beyond his current level & he'll never challange in this heavyweight division.. particularly now when it is stacked.

Wow, what a performance from Cain. Lesnar looked friggin pumped for the fight until Velaquez caught him with that short punch that Lesnar completely leaned into while going for a takedown.. followed by his spinaroonie. :D

Lesnar didn't lean into it, he went for the takedown and Cain punched him in the face. The guys been exposed before. This should not be a big surprise. Brock needs major help on his defense and standup.

Was I the only one who thought Kampmann should have got a 29-28 victory over Shields..

Who was the judge that scored is 30-27? Cecil Peoples?

I think this also puts to rest the myth that Brock would beat Fedor or Overeem.

Thats exactly what I said, Lesnar leaned into the punch as he was shooting for the takedown.

To be fair, getting clipped going in for a takedown doesn't exactly warrent major help on his striking.
Up until the takedown attempt, the striking department was pretty much even.

He needs to work on his punching defense both on the ground & on the feet though I'd agree, that ducking the head stuff would piss me off as a coach.. I know if your in trouble its natural to 99% of people, but its very dangerous.. especally in MMA as it showed tonight when he ducked & ate Cain's knee.

You can't not block punches either on the ground, which is what Lesnar did do when Cain had him in back side control.. he should have ate one then tried to either power out or move.

Doesn't surprise me to see this type of comment. Lesnar is beat & instantly he isn't capable of winning another MMA fight.. :whatever:

He can win fights, just not against Fedor or Overeem.

Man if Brock took Overeem down like he did against Cain, Overeem would get pounded out. You can't underestimate just how great of a wrestler Cain is. He got taken down and got back up. Overeem doesn't have that scrambling ability. In fact, he wilts under pressure. If Arona and Shogun could throw him around, a much bigger Brock would manhandle him.

Fedor would probably get taken down by Brock, but he works great off his back so I could see him pulling out the sub. I could see Brock winning too by controlling Fedor and grounding him out.

Either way it goes, Brock is still a beast, but he got beat by an incredible force in Cain. Cain is just an incredible fighter that is rare for heavyweights. No one has his speed and grappling ability except for Fedor. He has everything you need to be a great fighter.

As disappointed as I was that Lesnar lost, it's obvious that Lesnar can't take a hit. He does what most of us would do, panic, curl into a ball, and block like our lives depended on it. He needs to work on that. Maybe his coaches should just start hitting him in the face with a board.

You should have been on Sherdog after Fedor lost to Fabricio. The entire site became the "We Hate Fedor Club" and every single blog post was about how poor a fighter Fedor is and how he doesn't deserve his big pay days, pretty much talking about him as if he were some moderately successful MMA fighter with a decent record (as opposed to 31 - 2, and coming off of a ten year win streak).

That's the beauty of Sherdog though. Everyone with a 1 fight win streak is the greatest fighter ever, and they'd destroy the division if they had a chance. Every fighter that just lost sucks, and they'll never win a fight again because they got exposed for having no skills.

Then you have the anti-Zuffa crowd of elitists that always find mythical fighters that Dana is scared to sign, and the idiots who think that everything besides the UFC sucks. The balance makes for some good comedy.

Nope, if Fedor or Overeem fought the Brock that showed up tonight, same result would happen.

I agree, but only because Brock seems unable to take a solid hit without collapsing into a ball and blocking. Should he sort that weakness out then I think he could beat them, or at least give them a fight.

Sherdog is mostly full of trolls/idiots & haters though. The second a fighter with a popular fanbase, hype or trashtalker loses they are all over it like a ****ing rash coming off with some of the most stupid **** you'll ever read.
The UFC.com forums are exactly the same, when Fedor lost I believe half the forums regulars created accounts on Strikeforce forums & trolled out Fedor and cause havoc on their forums.

It's for these reasons I don't post in either, logic is out the window. It's a who can troll the best forum. I read the posts occassionally.. like right now for example, purely from a comical standpoint.

On one portion we have people gloating they predicted Cain would win the fight & posting various gloating/smug/"witty" comments. Then on the other half we have, what must be die hard Lesnar fans or extreme Velasquez haters who are furiously cussing him out hoping Dos Santos smashes him.
Then there are people who are fairly level headed & are talking about various aspects of the fight, where Cain won the fight, where Lesnar went wrong, whats next for Lesnar etc.

I think Facebook UFC comments are the worst, but if you just want to have a laugh there is no censoring there.

Real personal beef between The Undertaker & Brock Lesnar?

On another note I'm reading the Sherdog forums & alot of people pointed out that the punch that actually dropped Lesnar down & did the most damage after the knee, was a direct blow to the soft portion of the back of Lesnar's head.. which, even though accidental, is illegal for a variety of reasons.

Lesnar's partially to blame though, while he hasn't turned his back to him, he is definatly walking away & retreating trying to recover.. making it kind of a moo point/excuse.

Yeah he's been getting his clock cleaned there.

Damn.

I first heard/seen him in Universal Soldier: Regeneration. He is good in that. With what he has to do that is. I know he lost to Feder(sp?) in a fluke way. He did like a jumping punch and Fedor got in a lucky punch to the chin and dropped him.

I asked my dad this...I ask you all. Did Brock take a dive or did he...um...actually didn't take this dude serious? Was Brock thrown off his game plan early?

Most likely has to with Brock not jobbing for Taker.
I mean what else could wrestlers beef over :oldrazz:
