Okay, may not seem like the obvious choice but let's look at the pros.
1: Actor young enough to sick with a franchise for a couple of movies.
2: The guys actually pretty big already, if he went through the typical workout that these actors do when they prepare the guy would be a monster.
3: The women dig him, or so I hear.
but
4: This is the serious one. One of my favorite aspects of Captain America is his humility in our cynical age. The Ultimates dealt with the part really well. I think John could bring that to the table and still be able to kick serious ass when called upon.
Remember Steve Rogers wasn't alway a super hero. If memory serves he was just a regular guy before the Super Soldier formula and for The First Avenger Captain America that arc is probably going to play a big part so John can show us that.
What do you guys think?
Also in defense of posting this thread in this forum my reasons are two-fold:
1: I figure this forum get more traffic than others
2: RDJ was the first actor out the gate for the NEW Marvel Movie Universe and he has kind of set the standard. That being said just as the tone of the movies should all be different (otherwise why make different movies) the actors should be different in age and type and I find the to be a good example of how the should do that.)
