I just did my friend a favor. He manages an EBGames store, and he needed to fill X amount of temp spots in order to keep his holiday hours straight. He couldn't find anybody, so he asked me to do it. I now work three hours every two week at EBGames right next to my 40 hour a week job. What the hell was I thinking? At least there's discounts.

For me, a job at EB/Gamestop or my LCS would be heaven.

Luckily I have a job at my LCS.

I manage the musical instrument store next door. I'd say this is a bit of a step back.

I want to buy stuff there, but not....work :o

That's the beauty of it. I work like three times inbetween now and Christmas, and I get discounts.

I work at Dunham's Sports.

25% Discounts on EVERYTHING (Except guns, ammo, and DNR)

I work at Circuit City...

maybe $0.25 off of a game if I'm lucky.

Yeah....our discounts suuuuuck. Always better to get them when they're on sale at the same prices a customer can get it than to try to get it on discount. :(

The only benefits from my job is stealing the blank dvds and mini dvs........

What's so bad about it?

It's a horrible retail store run by a corporate board that doesn't know or care about it's employees or anything but money.

You just described 99.9% of the business world.

Yeah, but my other job is locally owned. In other words, I'm spoiled. I guess I don't have too much to worry about. It's only three hours every two weeks.

3 hours doesn't sound bad at all (especially with the employee discount). I know what you mean about feeling spoiled. I retired in June. 22 years at the same place....and now I don't know if I want to do anything.

Yeah, it's nice to have direct contact with the owner. Since I've become manager I've gotten so many things because he's right across town. I can go look him face to face and tell him what I need and why I need it.

I wish I had a job.

Btw, what happened to Thwip* ?

Dude, I feel so bad for you. I used to work for GameStop, I know what you're about to go through.

No sir. I'm basically a warm body there and that's all. We found out legally, he has to work me 4 hours per month, so that's all I'm working. :D
