What are old cartoons you'd like to see now but are no longer available? I know the big two, Transformers and GI Joe so we can skip those. There were tons of old school cartoons that are (IMHO) much better than some of the stuff now. Here are some of mine.

Astroboy

This was my absolute favourite. I haven't seen it since I was 6 but I still remember specific episodes. I know they did a remake recently but I missed it, I've yet to watch it.

Mysterious Cities of Gold

I used to watch this when I was a kid in England and I just found out they released the collected DVD there. Unfortunately I don't have a player that can play it here and the US release seems to have been cancelled. :(

Any fans out there know anything about that?

Here's the intro if you're curious or for nostalgia!

and of course

Dungeons and Dragons

"I am the terror who walks in the night!"

Man I loved that show.

Yeah, I absolutly LOVED that show, but i don't remember anything about it except he wore a purple cape and hat, there was a battery rat, and I think his partner might have been a duck version of robocop with one wheel for a leg.

No... Darkwing Duck's sidekick was Launchpad McQuack, you're thinking of Gizmo Duck who was on Duck Tales (Launchpad was too), although Fenton Crackshell/Gizmo Duck did appear on DarkWing Duck only one time. The "battery rat" was named MegaVolt

Looney Tunes
Tiny Toon Adventures
Animaniacs
Doug (Banging on a trashcan, haha)
Thundercats
Beetlejuice
Johnny Bravo (hey baby!)
Masters of the Universe
Darkwing Duck
Duck Tales
Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers
Ahhh! Real Monsters
Roco's Modern Life

Animaniacs is like my crack. It's like what every non-superhero cartoon should aspire to be.

I'm surprised no one mentioned this one:

Transformers (the old 80's series).

I haven't seen that cartoon since the 90's when the reruns were coming on the SCIFI channel every morning. With the new live-action movies and the popularity back after many years, I'm surprised the old 80's series hasn't been back on TV since its the most popular, most recognizable and most iconic incarnation of the Transformers. Maybe the "powers that be" will put them back on TV and re-release them on DVD pretty soon.

I'm still waiting for the animated Thunderbirds 2086 to come back

Others:

Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light
Pandamonium
Hero High/Shazam
Dungeons and Dragons
Inhumanoids
Galaxy Rangers
Robotech
Blackstar
Bravestarr
Defenders of the Earth
Captain Planet and the Planeteers
Swat Kats

I do agree with you on Transformers G1. Another candidate would be G.I JOE. With the upcoming G.I. JOE movie coming out this year, Hasbro needs to work with Cartoon Network to [1] Make a new Joe series to pair up with Transformers Animated, and [2] show every single episode of the classic Sunbow series!

The same can be said for Jem. That is, if Hasbro ever decides to bring back the line for its 25th anniversary and make a movie out of the series (live-action of course). But this time, cast the movie and write a great story, and get a good director who knows the source material. If there is to be a new Jem series, spin it off of Transformers Animated (if they ever get a Season Four of TFA), have it air on CN, and please air the original Sunbow series along with the new CN series!

super president and spy shadow

Visionaries needs a decent run, i'm surprised on the impact it made with only 13 eps

Centurions can be modernised for the new market, it's toys would be enough to keep it a sucess

Swat Kats with more violence would be amazing

C.O.P.S. should also be re-done in a grittier manner

Captian N: THe games master would be the greatest thing ever, I'm surprised they haven't put him in a smash brawl gam, Eric would be amazing

Imagine Eric kicking ass with a wii chuck and a super nintendo bazooka.

He appeared about three or four times, actually.
