Falcon and Winter Soldier "On Your Left" - FALCON / SAM WILSON aka the New Captain America

Only mistake I’d say in regards to Sam’s suit is the neck/head piece, it just hasn’t translated well to live action IMO,they could’ve easily just gone with the goggles and it look great.

There was something quite beautiful about seeing a black man wearing the stars and stripes so vividly, and I'm not even American.

Mackie I always found to be inconsistent as an actor but he really stepped up here. That speech with the cameras rolling was actually what I imagined it to he. I hope Sam Cap takes prominence in both film and TV.

I'm a big fan with the buildup and overall trajectory of this character. We've seen amazing things from Marvel with black men in leading roles. Black Panther, Luke Cage... But I'm so happy with how they handled Falcon's arc to becoming Captain America.

Bucky Cap *could* have worked, but it's far less of a story to tell. And they made a lot of good moves telling this story.

My one lament is that they never showed us the suit in broad daylight. GRRRRRR

Yeah, it should look awesome in daylight but we're sure to get that at some point. Falcon Cap is being built up for a big MCU future I'm sure.

I know it's gonna take time cause we're not used to it, as we associate the name immediately to Steve Rogers.

But he's not "Falcon Cap". He's not "Sam Cap".

He's Captain America.

We could always revert back to the days of the good old bang relationship mark (!) to denote which version of Cap we're talking about. i.e. CaptainAmerica!Sam CaptainAmerica!Steve (or Cap!Sam Cap!Steve for shorterhand) :oldrazz: It's worked for fandoms for a long time, don't see why it can't work here

Those obviously aren't official names that I'm calling him. Just a way to distinguish which Cap we're talking about. Rogers Cap is also very relevant to most of the characters on this show, and closer to the pair that the show is about than they are to each other lol. See why I had to put Rogers in front of Cap that time or it might have got confusing. :D

I *LOVE* calling him Captain Falcon. I think it's hilarious and I also love that they said it in the show. :D

Still not liking the head/neck design for his suit. Never cared for it in the comics and it doesn't really look all that good in live-action.

So the direct replacements for the OG Avengers:

Steve Rogers- Sam Wilson
Bruce Banner- Jennifer Walters
Clint Barton- Kate Bishop
Thor- Jane Foster?? (I don't know about this one)
Natasha Romanoff- Yelena Belova? (depends upon if she's still good at the end of Black Widow, which I have my doubts about).
Tony Stark- James Rhodes? (We'll see what happens at the end of Armor Wars)

Frankly I think the suit looks a little goofy in live-action.

The whole head sock thing has never looked right, even with other comic book characters. They should have stuck with just the goggles or gone with a fully-enclosed cowl.

Goggles would look good by themselves.

It looks a bit clothy to me. If it was made by Wakandans I would have hoped it would that more metallic texture to it.
