Online poker

Pros- Can see many more hands then live, lots of places to play, dont have to go out.

Cons- player quality IE players who play any two cards and go all in 80% of the time till there busted rampant, "random" card generator just isnt random enough, cheating is bound to happen because its on a computer program

Live poker

Pros-better tell pickups, card shuffling is truly random, player quality is better as most "fish" are to affraid to play live

Cons- you have to go out of your house (this could be a pro for some...), tipping dealers bites, theres cheating but its very hard to pull off in legit places now.

Who else has some they can add? If you play which do you PREFER not which do you play more.

I play facebook poker, I enjoy it, but it's really not anything like the real thing in my opinion.

I like being able to figure out people's tells and its much more fun with real stuff because if you win, its a lot more fulfilling, but ten times more horrible once you lose.... unless its strip poker. :o

Live poker is so much fun. Online poker is not fun at all.

I prefer brick and mortar casinos, although online poker has its purposes. You get to see more hands and multi-table, which increases your profitability. And it forces you to pay attention to betting patterns. Plus, its hard to beat playing in your undies.

But it's nothing like the real thing, IMO. I love the feel of chips in my hands, bantering with players/dealers and the excitement of scooping a big pot. Online poker is fun and all, but it'll always be "Poker Lite" to me.

Iv been playing ALOT of online poker and im CONVINCED there is cheating happening. Ill give my most recent example though this is just one of more then a 100 iv seen.

My cards KK
TIGHT player calls my initial bet of 650.

flop 2 4 10 rainbow safe for my KK

my bet 5000. Now I bet this SIMPLY because I know how people suck out with crap cards so I wanted it done there.

He calls. At this point im like AA is what he is holding.

turn Q. so at this point i got no choice but to go all in since i got amost none left.

Call he turns over Q2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Q2!!!! from a guy who played SOOOO tight and never showed a hand that didnt have an A.

Bad beat? No this happens more often then anyone can even imagine. Online poker is not to be trusted.

Im holding QJ off raise and get called by 2 one I suspect being a program already.

flop comes 9 8 Q

i go all in the non suspect folds the suspect calsl with JS 3S runner runner of spades he takes it down.

Bad beat? hmmmm. It seems easy for people to chalk this stuff up to bad beats and iv seen some incredible stuff live but NEVER NEVER NEVER have i seen more runner runner wins then online. considering I had the queen of spades and not counting the ones the folded some the chances of runner runner spade is about impossible were talking like <1%

I never understood how to play Poker but I'm pretty sure playing it with real people and the interaction surely makes it better in real life.

Never played online poker, like to interact with people when playing, playing through a computer screen just doesn't interest me.

I love live poker. I get to screw with people. The average poker player tries to be as stern and emotionless as possible, but I do the opposite. I have a series of fake tells that throw people off for the first few hands.

online poker has been infiltrated. Theres no doubt in my mind programmers are using there computers to tap into the various algorithms that the websites are using. A tight player big stacked at the table goes all in bad position with 30 total tourny chips in the pot with A6 suited get called by AA busts out a not flush. ok it happens. Same "tight" player goes all in from bad position AGAIN gets called by KING KING they show 43 OFFSUIT hit a full house.

This is one instance, one player but iv seen this over and over and over again. You can spot these bots a mile away if you look for the right things. If your an online gambler I suggest you stick to play money otherwise your going to lose a ton of money.

And no its the the website doing it its cheaters at home.

I wouldn't be able to play online poker, I just feel that there is some sort of cheating. I used to play live alot, but haven't in a long while.

The cheating is in the limitations of the computer math. No matter how "random" you try to make a computer it can never truly be random.

I had a friend that played online alot. His computer ended up being hacked somehow because of it. Anyway, nothing can replace the feeling of actually being there reading people.

I used to be big on poker - Texas Hold'Em back in the day. I'd have poker nights with friends and it was fun. Until everyone started taking too seriously and the game became for intense and stressful than fun.

As for online, I've never played online for money but just for "play" money which has a totally different flow to it as people do anything. Anyways, I'd never play poker for money online because theres no human interaction whatsover.

It's like online vs. live shopping. You could go to the mall with a good friend for the day and have a good time, or if your just serious about getting good deals/ best price and just search and get stuff online.

SO this is amazing to say the least. im pl aying in a tourny and hit top pair of 8s board looks like this 5d 8c 6d I ANNOUNCE to the 3 other players I have top pair and heres why: I knew for a fact none of them had me beat but they would call anyway and end up winning. All of them were drawing. I went all in. I TELL them I have top pair and all 3 call. Next card 9d. Next card 6. showdown comes 76s pocket 66s and 47offsuit. everyone of them called and even though none NONE had more then 15% chance of making a set a flush or a straight ALL 3 HIT!

The fact that I lost doesnt matter as I knew i would which is why i did what i did its the fact that this **** never never never never never never happens in real life especially not with 3 people. Not to mention I raised preflop and everyone of them called it.

Dont play online poker for money. You have been warned.
