The "Heroes vs. Villains: Marvel" RPG Season VII Sign-Up Thread

Okay I've come up with a list of both personal points and points that apply to all of us that I think should be applied in the reboot.

- Deadpool goes back to how he was before it all started. Terry's not dead, he's not an avenger etc.

- Same for Electro, not that I'm gonna play him but it'd be nice to see Max circling round again.

- This has got to be a reboot in effect. Not just "We've made some tweaks to the history.", because that's not a reboot. I'm fine with those that want to keep aspects of their characters RP history, but it means that some things have got to go back to how they were.

- The Avengers, and teams in general go back to normal.

- There haven't been any earth shattering events, nothing that makes us say to a new RPer "No, you can't do this because of this..."

- We give it a season or two before we start planning huge events. We can start Season 1 off with some kick ass stuff, like a good ol' scrap, but no Civil Wars or Earth invasions just yet.

- Unless there any specific requests, all Marvel characters are back to life. Spider-man for example, still has Mary Jane, and Daredevil has got Foggy.

- We get an evenly balanced roster. Heroes AND villains people. If we stick with the 2 characters rule preferably one of each.

- No glinding... (Season 1 joke...)

- I am master of the Universe.

Their friendship can bloom again.

We could work it out. Say Wade had a brief stint as an Avenger because of his friendship with Hawkeye but he didn't fit in.

So basically the idea I had for Hawkeye's reboot that I thought might work for an all around reboot was Wanda delivers the two of them back to the point in time where the West Coast Avengers are in Mephisto's realm and Mockingbird originally died. Instead though, she is saved and Wanda sacrifices a great deal of her "chaos" magic to defeat him and lock him away in some other dimension or something like that. This way, Hawkeye and Mockingbird are still together, and Mephisto is vanquished and never takes Wanda's children away, which would not only depower Wanda a great deal to stop her from being a huge threat but she keeps her children and her and Vision stay together, hence she lives a happy, crazy free life and her and Clint's relationship never happens. Also, stemming directly from this, there would never have been Disassembled, House of M, realigning of teams, registration, Civil War, etc. No deaths resulting from any of this, no crazy changes, and everyone has a basic blank slate to start fresh how they wish...Just an idea

But just because all those major events like House of M and Civil War haven't happened yet, doesn't mean we couldn't do our own versions right? As long as ours would be better and there would be less consquences, I don't think it would be a problem. Our own Secret Invasion a couple seasons from now comes to mind

As long as ours would be better and there would be less consquences, I don't think it would be a problem. Our own Secret Invasion a couple seasons from now comes to mind

I've never been one for recreating comic arcs in the RPGs... but in a few Seasons time we can pick this stuff up...

What character specific arcs have gone down? Has Spider-Man had the black suit? Has Daredevil transitioned from Yellow to Red? What's the breakdown of the X-Men or Avengers? (I only ask because I'm seriously tempted to ask Byrd if he would be okay with trading Spider-Men).

I suggest we simply just start a new RPG to replace this one.

Use current 616 continuity instead. Just pre-Secret Invasion and minus Avengers Disassembled/House of M/Death of Captain America.

That is, if we really want this to be accessibly as possible.

That IS what we're doing essentially. Just some few people wanna keep aspects of their character in the old RPG. That's all.

Sharon got closer to Thomas White, she put her Champagne glass on the mini coffee table next to Thomas' bed. She flung herself onto the bed and smiled. She had to distract Thomas long enough until her partner would give her the codeword through her earpiece, that they had taken the drugs.



"So Mr White, what's your business?" Sharon asked, taking out her hair bun. Her hair fell to her shoulders and she sat up on the bed.
"Please, call me Thomas....and my business is your business"
Thomas White placed himself next to Sharon Carter and felt her hair. He slowly got closer to her. Sharon then heard the codewords in her ears,
"Few" Sharon Carter jumped up and got out her electric handcuffs, she swiped them around Thomas White's hands and chucked him on the floor.
"ARGH!"
"The name is Sharon Carter and I work for SHIELD"

But yeah, if we reboot. I say just scrap the whole thing ASAP and get the new IC thread up. If you need an GM help, I'll help out.

All characters are firmly established. DD should be in his reds, post Venom Saga and the X-Men should be in one of their latest incarnations.

That is a cool spin on the 2 char rule. You can have two chars but one has to be a hero and the other a villain.
