What would it take for you to cancel Marvel books?

If I felt that I didn't enjoy the writer currently working on a series, I would cancel that book until a writer I like or want to give a chance comes aboard. I cancelled Astonishing X-Men for this reason.

Never cancelled a book because of an artist. Can't see myself doing this really.

If MJ were killed off, I'd immediately cancel all Spider-Man titles, except Spider-Girl. I'd, quite frankly, be furious if they killed off MJ.

I'm not like these silly reactionary fans who gets pissed off for minor reasons. It would take ALOT for me to cancel something that I love as much as Spider-Man. I feel that gives me more credit really, over guys that always get angry all the time for minor stuff.

So in other words, you created this thread to show how much a better fan you are.

Lol... no. I have an ulterior motive. I want to get people talking about the whole Quesada saying "i can't confirm or deny if we'll kill off MJ".

Maybe if we generate enough buzz they'll see that it's an incredibly stupid idea on so many levels.

In actual response to this thread, as a whole Marvel wuld have to do soemthing really stupid from getteing me to drop all marvel titles. Like Turn Daredevil into a Jason Todd Octupus monster. Other than that, I dont see myself dropping Marvel anytime soon.

Yeah, I dont know when he took that stance, a couple of months back he outright said they werent killing off MJ.

If he did, I wouldnt care much since im not a big Spidey fan anyway.

Art is one of the first reason I'd drop a book, probably THE first reason. For me if the art sucks, it just makes it painful to read the story, even if it's a good writer. I rarely drop books, so most of th time if the art isnt up to par for me I still keep it on my list, I'm such a sucker, I always feel like I'm gonna miss something.

Ive always been a writing over art guy. If the writing is good, ill stick with bad art.

Interesting characters, a comic book NEEDS good characters, if thats missing what the point of picking up the book if your not interested in the characters.

I try to stick with writing when the art is bad, but sometimes the art is such a big part of the story telling process that if the artist has totally gotten it wrong, I just can't be bothered to follow the story :(

Anything Ed McGuiness draws I will pick up and enjoy.

Well that goes under good writing.

Exactly how I feel, art-wise

I can understand that, its the reason I couldnt get into Super-Krull, the art was bad, and the story really didnt interest me.

it's one of the main things that put me off of Annihilation, because the one shot, in terms of art, just didn't do it for me. Don't think i've read it all the way through properly even now :(

I liked the art in Super-Skrull, I love how Super-Skrull looked.

Who did the art on that one? Kolins? Yeah, hes not for everyone, I liked his art on that Avengers mini, but his art on that one She-Hulk issue was horrendous.

The art from The Ultimate Fantastic Four Annuel last year is the kinda art that I would drip a book because of.

He was great in Marvel Team-Up

Not sure who it was. I've just read Avengers Forever (got the trade today) and whoever did the art for that would be PERFECT for a cosmic event like Annihilation.

Just checked; It was Pacheco.

What about a legal separation?

Still pissed.

And this is from a person who is accepting of the public Spider-Man

Yeah, but how can you become interested in the character, if you haven't read the book? Chicken or the egg my friend. There are no bad characters, just bad writers.

Debateable.
