NOTE: I did not include crossovers that were strictly limited to a mini-series with no substantial tie-ins in other books. (e.g. Annihilation, Secret War, etc.)

NOTE TO SPIDEY FANS: I purposefully left off Kraven's Last Hunt and Maximum Carnage. I felt the poll should be best storylines if they were included, because although they technically crossover into other titles, they were limited to the three Spidey titles and really could have been seen as a single issue continuing storyline if Marvel wasn't milking Spidey's popularity for all its worth. I included the Clone Saga only because there were so many miniseries and one-shots and miscellaneous crossovers.

VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE CROSSOVER!

Acts of Vengeance (1990) = Mainly focuses on the Avengers titles but crossovers include most Marvel titles at the time. Loki organizes the most powerful villains in the Marvel Universe to take on heroes who they normally don't fight. Avengers HQ destroyed. Mr. Fantastic convinces Congress to turn down the Super Power Registration Act. (Hmmm.... Reed Richards ten years later in Civil War? Way to stick with continuity Marvel! :woot: )

Age of Apocalypse (1995) = Crossover that takes place in all mutant books. An alternate Earth storyline resulting in the accidental murder of Professor X instead of Magneto. Leads to popular storylines with universe swapping teams such as Weapon X and the Exiles.

Atlantis Attacks (1989) = Another crossover that only takes place in Marvel's Annuals. Heroes prevent the serpent god from returning. Meh.

Avengers Disassembled (2004) = A crossover focusing mostly on Avengers titles, and the Avengers as we know them are forever changed. New teams form, and the bodycount list grows as Avengers becomes an endangered species.

Civil War (2006) = A crossover miniseries that essentially ends up in all Marvel books. A superhero allegory on how we overreacted to 9/11 (personal opinion inserted :cwink: ) where heroes chose sides and many mainstays become 'official ********s.' Spider-Man reveals his identity and more.

Clone Saga (1994-196) = Crossover event that sticks with the numerous Spidey titles and several one-shots and miniseries. Controversial storyline.

Evolutionary War (1988) = Crossover takes place in most of Marvel's Annuals. High Evolutionary attempts to accelerate the evolution of man. Savage Land is restored. Good guys win in the end.

Fall of the Mutants (1987) = Crossover takes place in all mutant books, and tie-ins with several non-mutant books. Introduced the Mutant Registration Act. X-Men are made invisible to all forms of surveillance. Archangel revealed to be the former X-Man, Angel. Cypher of the New Mutants is killed and the team abandons Magneto.

Fatal Attractions (1993) = Crossover limited to the mutant titles. Magneto is back and he's pissed! Professor X's decision to mind wipe Magneto leads to the villain Onslaught in later years. Wolverine loses his adamantium skeleton!

House of M and Decimation (2005) = Crossover miniseries with several tie-ins throughout the Marvel Universe. Mutants go bye-bye, Wolverine recalls his past, Professor X loses his powers, and no one ever again attempts to stress out The Scarlett Witch. Part II winds up in the Decimation series.

Inferno (1989) = Crossover in all mutant books, and several hero titles based in NYC. Demons take over Manhattan, some heroes fall to the dark side and are possessed. Illyana Rasputin morphs into a demon. Madeline Pryor and Mister Sinister all leveled, but return later.

Infinity Series (1991-1993, 2002) = Begins in an exclusive miniseries, spawns into more mini-series with their own crossover events in several popular titles. Begins with the rascal Thanos, morphs into all kinds of crazy celestial battles involving Adam Warlock, Silver Surfer and many others.

Maximum Security (2001) = Crossover in a miniseries and several popular titles at the time. Aliens designate Earth as a penal colony and the heroes decide otherwise.

Mutant Massacre (1986) = Crossover primarily involves the mutant titles with a few crossovers in other non-mutant books. The Marauders attempt a "Morlock Massacre" and are repelled by the Marvel heroes. Angel becomes Archangel. Wolverine discovers Jean Grey is still alive. Most of the Morlocks are traumatized forever.

Onslaught (1996) = Crossover takes place in two phases through most of the popular titles at the time. One of the biggest, baddest villains the Marvel Universe has ever produced requires all heroes to team-up. The final battle practically wipes out half the known superhero universe, although everyone comes back happy. :hyper:

Operation Galactic Storm (1992) = Crossover that mostly takes place in Avengers related titles. The Avengers are caught in the middle of the Kree/Shi'Ar War. Forever affects how non-Earth races view Earth's superheroes.

Secret Wars (1984, 1985) = Crossover takes place in a 12-issue miniseries and tie-ins with several titles. Battle royale on a strange planet with the superheroes vs. the supervillains. Introduced the Beyonder, aka God. Spider-Man finds the famous black costume. She-Hulk first joins the Fantastic Four. New Spider-Woman introduced. The Beyonder returns, only this time to Earth in 1985 with Secret Wars II.

World War Hulk (2007) = Current crossover in a miniseries and several tie-ins. HULK SMASH PUNY MUTANT AND AVENGER CROSSOVERS!

X-Cutioner's Song (1992) = Crossover limited only to mutant books. Spawns that pesky Legacy Virus.

X-Men Endangered Species (2007) = Another mutant crossover currently running that deals with consequences from the House of M crossover and other events.

X-Tinction Agenda (1990) = Crossover strictly limited to the mutant books. Starts the transition from The New Mutants to X-Force. X-Men once again form an official team after previously disbanding.

Feel free to add more covers if you have them.

I loved Inferno with Acts of Vengeance coming up a close second. There were so many good stories with all titles involved, not just the X-men ones.

Amazing Spider-Man (during McFarlane's run) featuring the Lizard, Mysterio, Green Goblin, and Hobgoblin. I'll always remember when Spidey had to take out his own parade float that was aimlessly wandering through NYC.

Avengers (around vol.1 #300) when they were broken up, but reformed by Capt. America (aka the Captain at the time). Jarvis even got in on the action a little bit!

Fantastic Four, Daredevil, and many more. At the center of it all was the whole Sinister, Jean Grey, Madeline Pryor payoff story. I own the trade paperback. It was a good time to be a Marvel fan.

Damn it! I completely forgot about Annihilation! I change my vote!

I like how in the original post he stated he wasn't included Annihilation, but Annihilation still wins all.

If enough people consider it a true crossover, I don't mind a mod inserting it with the edit function, because I can't edit the poll. The only reason why I didn't include it was because every single crossover on this poll branched out into several regular books and interrupted the writer's regular storyline to insert a sidetrack story that tied into the Marvel Universe crossover event. Annihilation, like Secret War, really didn't do that. Although I included the Infinity storyline which certainly started out similar to Annihilation before it started becoming a big crossover event as the storylines continued.

This poll is useless without Annihilation! :cmad:

But in all seriousness, I'd probably pick the X-Cutioner's Song as my favorite from that list.

Of those listed, I'm gonna go with Acts of Vengeance. Why? Because it's first on the poll, so it saved me from having to read all the other options. :o

You have demand greatness, Corp. Demand Annihilation be added!

Well, whatever greatness I have, it's certainly not that awful demand kind. Don't go spreading that around about me.

I like that one a lot, but it loses points because Stryfe comes off as a whiny little bastard through a lot of it.

Yeah, and his entire crybaby act took down X-cutioner's Song down a couple of notches. Still a great read though. I also kinda wish Apocalypse wasn't made to be so weak in the storyline, but the asskicking he received from Stryfe was fun to read.

Inferno.

But I haven't read all of Age of Apocalypse.

I think Civil War was very well done and will be relevant in years to come. WW Hulk may turn out even better. But I always try to limit myself to things that are at least a couple years old, because it's easy to be excited about current happenings(so I wouldn't vote for Annhilation even if it were there, as good as it was.) I never really liked any of the X-events, except the ones that were part of an ongoing title, and I never thought the one-story-running-through-the-annuals were very cohesive. I loved the clone saga, but it doesn't really feel like a crossover. For me, it narrowas down to Age of Apocalypse, which I thought was great at the time.

I'm actually a sucker for civil war, there was a lot of problems but I like a character driven event.

Have to say X-Cutioner's Song. That was the first series I got when I started collecting comics back in middle school.
