Do you see the glass as half full or do you just want to take the glass off the imaginary table and smash it against an imaginary wall... ok, that might not be pessimistic. Probably moreso very very angry... but definitely less than half full.

What do you see yourself as and why do you see the world so bright/dreary. I could make an argument that pessimists like to describe themselves as realists... but most are just *******s who wear dread-goggles and refuse to take them off to appreciate the cute kittens.

Not that kittens are very cute... I personally feel they are tiny demons with fur and claws.

OR!!! were you one a former pessimist and are now a born again optimist? What about vice versa? Not the horrible... HORRIBLE late 80s movie starring Judge Reinhold but vice versa as in the main items in the preceding statement the other way around.

Clickedy click on the poll, sit on my couch and tell me about it.

Glass half full or you'll never make it out alive. There's too much **** that can go wrong in ones life that you need to find the silver lining to keep your sanity.

Half full or half empty, either way its better with vodka.

I'm a half full kinda person. As NickNitro stated before you need to find the good things in life, otherwise you'll go nuts.

I was hoping there would be an option for being a lemon popsicle. Alas no. So I went for the next nearest thing, a Women's bicycle seat. Actually, there is no glass.

On a somewhat more serious note. There should have been an option for neither or realist. As that is what I am.

A realist is not a pessimist that won't admit it. A realist is someone, who after looking at a situation, acts on what it is. Not acting on a hopeful or gloomy interpretation of the facts.

Or for a more official rendering of the meaning...

We should have a sub-poll for kittens. I will start. I love kittens...

I am a realist so I picked pessimist. I hate unfounded optimism.

Women's Bicycle seat....cuz I'm not really a half full or empty kinda guy. I'm more of a "Did you put Ricin in this?" Kinda guy.

I'm a pessimist through and through. Which is why I need to rely on stuff like Ponies to give me the much needed optimism boost.

^^^

All and any optimism is unfounded...

Not all. I can be optimistic that I am not going to get raped by a horny dolphin at work tomorrow because the probability of that happening is literally nil.

This is my category too.

Definitely a pessimist. Unfortunately I don't think it's an unearned outlook.

I guess I'm the only one who is mostly optimistic and sometimes pessimistic. I'm more like a realistic optimist even though I'm much more of a optimist in terms of my outlook on life. I'm always keeping consistently positive even though I'm in a difficult situation right now.

If there was an option, I would consider myself an optimistic realist, if that makes any sense.

I see things for what they are, but try to keep an optimistic outlook and look for at least some silver linings throughout my everyday life. If something bad happens, I may be mad or disappointed, but I'll eventually just shrug my shoulders and just move on. If something good happens, then great. And even in a bad situation, I can sometimes take something from that and apply it to future situations. So, even then, it's still not entirely bad. And I may have some pessimistic views from time to time, but when I do, that's usually just me in a bad mood. :woot:

I think it's good to have a healthy mix of the two.

I used to consider myself an optimist but lately I think I've become more of a pessimist, or realist.

Pessimist but Women's Bicycle Seat is a close second.

I echo your thoughts, dude.

A little of both.
But not one of the lower two choices.
