Superhero Consensus 2010

I decided that it might be fun to make a poll of who people's favorite superheroes are, and why.

Now, I know this is a very sensitive issue, and that flame wars are very possible. So, here are the rules for the discussion:

1: No mocking of people because of their choice. Example: "If you like Spider-Man, you suck."

2: Insults related to sexual orientation, mental illness, etc, are not tolerated. Example: "If you don't think Cap needs wings, you're ******ed."

3: No "Marvel heroes are better than DC heroes" or vice-versa arguments.

4: Just because someone's opinion is different from yours on an aspect of a character does not make them "not a fan". Example: "If you like the Ultimate Cap, you aren't a real fan."

5: Remember, this is not a discussion just about the films. Also remember this is about the characters themselves, in the comics, animated series, etc. We don't need five straight pages about how Batman sucks because of Batman and Robin.

6: Remember, there is a limit to the number of poll options, so not every character will be up. So don't complain about things such as "Where's the Power Pack?" or "What about Joe Fixit?".


Now that we have that cleared up, let the consensus begin!

I picked Batman because, well...It's the goddamn Batman.

Not to mention I had to pick one out of the dozen or so heroes that are my #1 on that list.

I believe BTAS is the ONLY animated series that created their own character that was adopted into the actual comics.

My favorite is Doc Savage....but since he's not listed on the poll I'll go with Nick Fury.

Doc, because he was the basis of so many other heroes that came after him.

Fury....because he was the first comic I started collecting in the mid 60's and was just a hard working hard fighting regular guy.

I'd apologize, but it'd be hollow and meaningless. I don't regret saying this poll needed an 'Other' option, or pointing out that you created a movie-themed thread in the Community forum.

I know, I know, but I already told you, I can't do anything about it now. I can't change the poll. (seriously, I can't.)

I WOULD have added 'Other', and Black Panther but I forgot and tried to fill up the list as much as I could. I can't change the poll now, hence the 'Don't argue about the poll options rule'. I made that in the hopes that would prevent the inevitable complaining about so-and-so not being on the list.

I can't change the poll. Move on with it.
