Order of Batman graphic novels

Hi everyone, n00b here.

I just got Batman Venom, Birth of the Demon, A Death in the Family, Sword of Azreal and Knightfall Vol 1 & 2 in "preparation" for the movie and am trying to figure out what order I should read them in.

I think that Birth of the Demon is independent of the others, and I only realy got it cos i was curious about the Lazarus Pits and such.

As for the others, I know Knightfall is last but I don't know where the others slot in.

If anyone could help me out it'd be greatly appreciated

Birth of the Demon takes place first chronologically, then you pretty much got it right already. I'd recommend reading Dark Knight Returns as well, that seems to have influence on the movie.

Just started reading the comics myself. Finished Knightfall Vol 1 & 2, but I'm pretty mad that they didnt show Wayne's recovery at all.

What should/can I read to see Waynes recovery after Bane broke him?

Hmmm not sure this helps me out... They just list Knightquest after Knightfall. Are there specific comic books that show his recovery that they did not include in Knightquest (knightfall vol 2)?

I am re-reading the Knightfall trade and the No Man's Land novelization. I've also re-read Dark Knight Returns and Long Halloween/Dark Victory recently.
