Well, I just don't believe that it was supposed to be new. If it was supposed to be new they would of done something new. It was video on a screen of a past websling. I think the color correction was used so it wouldn't pop out like a sour thumb. Plus, some sequels do it anyway. No big deal.

Um, no it wasn't supposed to be new it was supposed to mean as if Spider-Man 2 just ended and Spider-Man 3 just started...

I can’t really describe how ecstatic I was at this point. The first shot of the movie is footage from spider-man’s final swing in Spider-Man 2, at least I’m pretty sure it was, we here a voice over from Peter, more of the same, but this time he notes how things are finally going his way, and the camera zooms out and we see Peter and a group of kids watching the clip of Spidey swinging on a big screen suspended over the streets of New York.

This guy knew it was from Spider-Man 2, I know it was meant for Spider-Man 2, Pretty much everyone on this thread knew it was meant for Spider-Man 2 to be shown in Spider-Man 3, even this goddamn monkey knows it was meant to show Spidey 2

I noticed. And not just once. I spent a few weeks saying this but defenders got all jumpy. It's still true though.

Spiderman 3 is the new Batman & Robin even when Batman & Robin didn't use rehash CGI.

The movie was great. To complain about recycled footage that lasts only moments, out of a 2 1/2 hour movie....one would imagine that you would not be able to enjoy the movie. One would imagine that you'd have to spend all that time just picking apart the movie to find all the subtle things wrong with it instead of just enjoying it. That sequence? No big deal. At all.

wow, this is a big complainer. First off, spidey swinging wasn't the whole final swing. It showed like 2 micro seconds worth. THe rest was new cgi spidey swinging and foing flips or whatever.

The first 3-4 seconds of swinging is from Spider-man 2, the final swing. No re-colors or anything, EXACTLY the same. The second half were he tosses himself in the air and double flips is brand new. I don't know how many times a person can tell you this. Raimi told us that SM3 picks up where SM2 left off. They tried to show us this artistically through the credits and the first shot of the film. Le Sigh....
