Pathfinder

Ouch. My interest in this film just went out the window. It's a shame, because I'm of Norse descent, and I was hoping for a good Viking flick. Looks like I'll have to wait a bit longer. :(

Don't the Scandinavian countries already have Viking films of their own?

this movie was horrendous... why do people actually care about this pile of ****?

it was as bad as any uwe boll movie... if im not mistaken the climax of the movie where the avalanche fell looked like stock footage

I'm certain it was!

The action in an Uwe Boll film looks more fake than Pathfinder, so I don't see the comparison. The dialogue isn't so terrible either, and that's rare for screenwriter, Laeta Kalogridis.

The violence and bloodshed was also more honest when it comes to weapons and blades, so they weren't holding back.

I like the stock footage, because if it were more CGI then it would feel more underwhelming. The more fake it feels the less I appreciate the actual power of nature.

I feel Alone in the Dark has better action than this movie. Pathfinder does have better action than Bloodrayne and House of the Dead though.

Pathfinder had no action whatso ever....

i dont even remember any gore....

total crap.

I don't care about action. What I care about is- how faithful was it to the comic?

Lmaol, have you read the comic???? It's supposed to look like that!!!

http://www.studioronin.com/pathfinder/graphic_novel.htm

So the color coding was beyond perfection from what I've seen in trailers- really resembles the graphic novel's stylization...

The only question I have- for those who have actually read it- does it stay true/ relatively true to the source material?

Well, at least can't be as bad as 'Wanted' in those regards which seems to have only kept the title.

Oh... thought it was the other way around- graphic novel inspiring a movie.

So, definitely catching it on DVD then. Meant to catch it in theaters, but due to all of the delays- I never knew when it came out and missed it.

Okay......

I remember:

1 scalping.
Lots of the Dawn people getting slashed in the raids.
1 dismembering of a hand.
1 bludgeoning with a mace.
1 toture by hanging over fire.
An eye getting lost by a sword slash.
Cross cut to the throat with 2 swords.
Slashing at the abdomens.
Arrow shots.
Sword and shield duels.

The list goes on.

Digging this up to prove some sort of point?

ummmm, no, just doing some research to see if "quite a few people" really liked Pathfinder as I have yet to find hardly anyone who did. rottentomatoes has it at 11% and this very website has nothing but disdain for it.

This has little to do with Conan, same director sure but every director has hits and misses.

It was a bad flick, but I didn't mind watching it.

When the Raven Flies is the best I hear. Haven't seen it myself yet.
