Paul Heyman is the Wrestling Thread's Advocating Jew -- - Part 178

Vince and Kevin Dunn both need to sit down and let HHH work:

While Paul Levesque, famously known as Triple H, may be gaining in influence and gearing up to take over WWE from father-in-law Vince McMahon one day, the passing of the torch has yet to officially happen.

McMahon is still "in charge," as it were, even if you would assume his influence is decreasing as Triple H takes over. This odd power-sharing situation is causing increasing confusion, with certain wrestlers being pushed, then falling down the card suddenly. Some of these frustrating 'Start-and-Stop' pushes can be attributed to Triple H and Vince's differing views on wrestlers.

Dave Meltzer mentioned in his subscribers-only Wrestling Observer Newsletter back in May that many people in WWE aren't sure who is supposed to have the final word: "It's been noted to us what an impossible position Paul Levesque has been put in when it comes to talent relations, because Vince McMahon is still the guy making all the final calls, and he changes his mind frequently. It's become a big frustration of talent that they are told a certain direction by Levesque, and then Levesque is put in the position of having to get with the talent again and explain that what he told them before isn't happening."

Of WWE talent Triple H and Vince don't see eye-to-eye on, two names that come to mind are Paige and AJ Lee. It is said that Triple H "infinitely" prefers Paige to AJ, whereas Vince likes AJ much more than Paige.

Triple H adores Paige, so much so that he willing to get her over at all costs, even at the expense of AJ. The 21-year-old is a product of the WWE Performance Center, which many call Triple H's "baby." His reputation as an executive is riding on the line with the success of WWE's developmental program and the last thing he would want is for "his" guys and girls to flop. Fortunately, after some rough patches, Paige appears to be coming into her own as the star she was projected to be when the company first signed her.

Vince, on the otherhand, doesn't "get" Paige and isn't a fan of her alternative look. In only her second week on Raw, JBL made fun of pale skin, and it can only be assumed that the remark was directed by Vince via headset. Why WWE, or Vince if you will, feel the need to bury their own talent, I have no idea.

Another likely reason for Vince not digging Paige too much is her accent, which is quite thick. It is said that WWE's lead producer, Kevin Dunn, HATES accents. This is a big reason why he's not in favor of certain wrestlers, which includes Adam Rose, Justin Gabriel and Sheamus. And when Dunn doesn't like certain wrestlers, he gets in Vince's ear and buries them.

It was also reported recently that of other WWE Superstars Triple H and Vince don't see eye-to-eye on, Adam Rose is a "Triple H Guy" whereas Vince isn't a fan. It's the same thing, but to a lesser extent, with Cesaro.

Although Rose remains undefeated, his push has been irregular thus far. He'll appear on WWE's top-line shows one week, and relegated to WWE Superstars or dark match duty the next. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported recently that Vince's right-hand man, Kevin Dunn buried Rose, which could affect how Vince sees him. Figure Four Weekly editor Bryan Alvarez reported recently that Dunn hates accents, which could explain why he dislikes the South African native.

Cesaro has been subject to those 'Start-and-Stop' pushes as much as anyone. He'll be put over as a big deal one week and portrayed as a non-entity the next. This is in large part due to Vince just not being too into him. Meltzer reported last year that he finds the Swiss grappler to be "boring." This is why his spot on the card fell following a lengthy United States Championship reign.

With WWE stars, Vince's standpoint often comes down to whether he make money off of him or at least fall in line with his preferences. If a wrestler doesn't fit either bill, he or she won't truly be accepted by him.

Now I can't blame WWE for this one due to how big of fixtures they are in NXT:

Sami Zayn and Adrian Neville are dynamic forces on WWE NXT.

The athletic developmental competitors make the most of their matches with high-flying maneuvers mixed with incredible cutting-edge wrestling, never producing a bad encounter. You would think with their endless line of superb wrestling performances, they would have been promoted to WWE's primary roster by now. But that hasn't happened for a reason, and it's not because they do a bad job or someone important in the company doesn't like them.

With WWE NXT airing on the WWE Network, company officials want to keep it a "must-watch" show and as the two most popular and talented active stars, are much too vital. Simply said, they are more beneficial to WWE in developmental than they would be on Raw and SmackDown at this time. Their removal from NXT would be a tremendous hit to the quality of the program.

They will likely be promoted to the main roster, but not at least until WWE's heavily hyped signings of Kenta, Prince Devitt and Kevin Steen are ingrained on WWE NXT and/or fellow developmental talent step up and show great improvement. It will likely take at least a few more months for any of that to occur.

Both Zayn and Neville are said to be frustrated with their current status since both competitors have wrestled for over a decade and feel they have proven what it takes to make it in WWE. Their frustration isn't frowned upon though, it's seen as more of a "they're hungry for opportunities and success."

Zayn and Neville are respected backstage, as well as popular. Expect both wrestlers to receive a fair shake since Paul "Triple H" Levesque, WWE's Executive Vice President, Talent, Live Events and Creative, is high on both individuals.

- The dark match before tonight’s WWE Main Event broadcast in Seattle, Washington saw Big E defeat Fandango. Big E got a babyface pop and came out by himself.

On a related note, Kofi Kingston worked tonight’s Main Event and lost a match to Seth Rollins. There was no mention of the stable with Big E & Xavier Woods, and Kofi was back to his normal gimmick. Going into tonight’s tapings, it was reported by F4Wonline.com that if the stable wasn’t mentioned tonight then it was to be considered officially dropped.

- Adam Rose defeated Xavier Woods in the dark match before tonight’s SmackDown tapings began. Like Big E and Kofi, Xavier was back to his former gimmick.

- As noted earlier, WWE announced the signing of Kevin Steen today. Former WWE personality Ricardo Rodriguez tweeted the following about a photo Triple H and Steen shaking hands:

“Congrats.. I hope he at least looked at you while shaking hands at one point and did call you fat as f–k. #OhMemories.”

“#BumbleBee was his name for me… Don’t even think he ever knew my real name.”

He later deleted the tweets. The BumbleBee reference is to a Simpsons character that is a Hispanic man in a bumblebee costume.

That's pretty ****ed up. Isn't there anyone that can tell Vince to go sit down somewhere? And I'm willing to bet that Vince, and especially Dunn, don't like Becky Lynch either.

So basically Triple H's legacy as an executive depends on the same talent the IWC generally supports? Oh irony, you cruel *****.

Which is typical WWE considering they hired her trainer/mentor Prince Devitt.

Why are Vince and Dunn such stubborn obtuse nitpicky self serving *******s?

Each tidbit I see when dropping off some pics makes me happier that I opted out, but I had to comment on this pic.....

:awesome: WWE's talent pool is going to be amazing for the NXT 5 years.

It's like a smug-off! :funny: I think Steen's expression is one of a guy that knows the other guy is not really going to give him a fair shot but will pay him well enough for that jolly, so get the money for your family Steen.

I just can't wait for the HHH era to rise in full force without Dunn and Vince holding it back.

Sounds a bit lackluster for me.

I'll watch for the Ambrose/Rollins stuff

I would probably crack up and laugh if it's revealed tomorrow that HHH got Dunn fired for "budget cuts". :funny:

Probably why I think Vince will hate Kevin Steen for being too fat.

Steen looks like a guy who lifted weights for a long time and stopped somewhere in the mid-2000s. That could be rectified with WWE's SotA training facility, but Steen also has to contend with the fact that he's not that tall as well. If there is anything that Vince hates, it's a "Normal Joe" look. Steen will need a solid gimmick, which means the luck of the draw from the CT.

Why are Vince and Dunn such stubborn obtuse nitpicky self serving *******s?

Vince and Dunn are pretty much the root of all evil in WWE. And I pray that the shareholders get more educated about the wrestling business, and get a wind of whats going on with Vince, Dunn, and the other Yes Men who are in The Boss's ear influencing his decisions, and have them removed promptly.

Doing this, and putting Haitch in charge (with some checks and reservations) can only improve the state of WWE drastically at this point.

Who would have thought that, of all people, Triple H would end up being in charge and do a better job than Vince?

Makes me wonder if/when he's fully in charge, will that make more wrestlers actually want to come to the WWE if they hadn't wanted to already.

Despite some flaws Trips does understand wrestling a lot better than Vince and has for years.

It would do Vince and Dunn a whole lot of good to BACK THE F-CK OFF and let HHH handle his prospects as opposed to interfering and sabotaging.

Seriously their pettiness over accents would be like saying HHH shouldn't have been pushed back in the day because of his big nose.

That's pretty ****ed up. Isn't there anyone that can tell Vince to go sit down somewhere? And I'm willing to bet that Vince, and especially Dunn, don't like Becky Lynch either.
Getting rid of the Irish Jig gimmick and giving Becky the Lita extreme gimmick was the a good idea.
Probably why I think Vince will hate Kevin Steen for being too fat.

Steen's physique isn't any worst than Mark Henry, Bull Dempsey, Bray Wyatt, Mick Foley, Brodus Clay and so ons.

The WWE knew what they were getting when they signed him. I doubt they signed him expecting him to turn into some muscle bound wrestler.

Kevin Dunn, HATES accents? So this means international stars are removed from mic time? Buried? What an absolute moron.

I get Vince not getting Paige. I didn't get her for a while. But, once she got on the mic and started feuding with AJ, I quite like her.

Just give these ****ing people a mic!
