PC Issue

Ok I am at a loss as to how to fix this. My problem started when Norton ran an update and said it needed to restart the pc. Nothing unusual, so I clicked ok. Since then my desktop will not boot past the Windows start up banner and will just try to load for about two minutes then reboot again. This has been an endless loop that it has been stuck in.

Now on to what I have tried to do to fix it. I have gone into BIOS and tried to boot from a rescue CD to see if there were hard drive issues, which none were found. I replaced stata cables and still nothing. I can see the hard drive in BIOS and all tests say there is no reason that it should not boot. I have even tried a different hard drive to see if it was something on the motherboard. When using a different HD i can boot but all my drivers are missing.

I know I could just restore factory setting and be done with it, but I have too much important stuff on there to do that. Pictures, files programs with out install CDs, ect.

Does anyone have any other ideas as to what could be wrong?

Can you boot into safemode or last known good configuration?

Yeah. I tried both but the machine just reboots over again.

What is the make and model of the PC?

In the BIOS look for the Sata operation and change it to either SATA, AHCI or IRRT. We do that at work for PC's having a similar issue and it corrects it. Now your PC may be different.

Kable's idea is very good one, but I'm curious does the BIOS even see the drives?

It sees the hard drive the cd/DVD burner and the network. I have run into a new problem. I was able to force it to boot from my cp pro cd. But it installed it. I was able to recover files with an undelete program I have. But now comes the long task of putting everything back where it goes. Not to mention all network drivers are lost. I do not have my driver cd and Lenovo's site isn't much help in locating them.
