I'd been more okay with him prior to Shazam!
but, given that it kinda put him at traditional, tall, buff, leading man status... seems like a bit of a type cast (which ironically isn't even the ideal Reed type) sorta the same reason I'm not the Krasinski camp

From what we’ve heard, it sounds like John Krasinski may have filmed scenes as Mr. Fantastic for Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness. Now, if this turns out to be true it would be a huge win for fans that have fan cast Krasinski as the leader of the Fantastic Four for years. Interestingly it sounds like Krasinski could be playing a variant version of Mr. Fantastic from another universe. Mr. Fantastic was one of the members of the Illuminati in Marvel comics.

Take it with a grain of salt for now but the Iluminerdi are pretty reliable so this could be true.

It would be a cruel joke if he was cast as a variant and not the actual MCU Richards...but with the rumors of the 4 being cast and Doom showing up in BP2, I hope all of this news is the beginning of 2022 being the year we get all kinds of F4 news, reveals, etc....

Just because Krasinski is a variant of Reed in Dr. Strange 2 doesn't mean he won't be actual Reed in the prime MCU. Remember, Tom Hiddleston has played multiple versions of Loki and also in the Dr. Strange 2 trailer, we saw an evil Dr. Strange played by Benedict Cumberbatch. Also the Gamora that we'll see in Guardians 3 is technically a variant of the original Gamora, but yet played by the same actress Zoe Saldana. While I am highly skeptical of the rumor, I would not be at all surprised if Krasinski is also prime Reed Richards.

still seems odd to meet him as a variant first... especially if its not a variant of a Reed we already seen

him just showing up would have no contexts for him to be associated with Reed or the F4 brand

I had just started believing the "Seth Rogen/Kristen Bell/two famous, two unknowns" rumor, and now Krasinski pops back up. I was hoping for something in the Dr. Strange movie though.

What makes the FF more exciting than the X-Men is that at least X-Men fans have gotten a few decent movies over the years. FF fans are starving.

Boy you can say that again. The X-Men don’t even have a movie officially announced, and they’re already getting new animated content. While F4 has a director and a movie announced but we have no cast, no release date and we had zero news last year. Now that Watts is finished with No Way Home hopefully his next project is F4 and we get at least a cast announced.
