Let's think for a minute. Tony Stark is one of the world's richest men and one of the leading industrialists in America. He's the head of a multi-national, several hundred billion dollar company. Women who get to the position of executive assistant/secretary to a guy like that are practically executives themselves, not just some 20 year old part timer who was hired through Temps-R-Us. The job probably pays six figures a year so I'd think you'd need someone with experience, brains and hutzpah in that role.
I'd just rather not fall into the trap that both Batman Begins and Superman Returns got stuck in. Did anyone believe twenty-something Katie Holmes as the assistant district attorney for Gotham City? Not really. Did anyone believe twenty-something Kate Bosworth as a multiple Pulitzer winning world renowned ace reporter? Not really. I'm not saying it can't be someone in their 20's, but she needs to project some maturity and gravitas on screen.
Kidder was 30 when Superman '78 came out and Basinger was 36 when Batman '89 came out. Nobody complained about their age when those movies came out, but I heard a lot of critics complain about the female leads for SR & BB.
