It depends on the script then but I have a feeling that Rhodes is going to be a bigger factor in the movie than Pepper is. When I think the size of her role I'm thinking Betty Brant/Elizabeth Banks in the Spiderman movies size role, maybe just a bit more than that. When I think Rhodes, I imagine that role to be of similar size to Harry Osborn/James Franco in the Spiderman movies.

I think that she will have a bigger role than that, probably more like Mary Jane's role in the Spider-Man films, maybe a little smaller. The will need a leading actress, and the film will most likely have a love story of some sort (all the Marvel movies have had one). I know that is cliched, but they will want to bring in the female audience.

True, but the character has more of a similarity with Batman in that there really isn't just one longtime main squeeze. I'm sure there will be one but I don't expect it to be as central to the story as it is in Spiderman or Superman or even the Hulk. Yes, I think Batman style is a good approximation.

I agree that is what will probably happen. Still, I think Pepper Potts will still have a decent sized role in the film.

I wonder that as well, Mandarin is the only other "major" role left, there are minor roles, like Obidiah Stane, Jarvis among others, but Pepper and Mandarin are the big roles left un-cast.

It probably is Mandarin. Considering he's the film's main villain, he must be the only major role left casting, like Ironman24 mentioned. And yes, it does sound like Pepper has been already cast...
