Yes, the previous Persona games had lots of female characters, as did damn near every Final Fantasy before XV. However, the developers of Persona 5 and FFXV have chosen to mix it up and do something different for these new outings. Not afraid of a little diversity are you?

Actually there was diversity before, when they had both males and females. This is the opposite of mixing it up.

but there was only one that was a main character. of the 3 most important characters anyway. that's what I was getting at. of course there were others but none with a role as big as hers.

The three most "important" characters in Harry Potter are Harry, Big D and Snape. There is only one "main character", which is Harry. No female character has a bigger role then Hermione, but that didn't keep characters like Ginny, Luna, Tonks, Mrs. Weasley, etc. being prominent. They streamlined the movies quite a bit, but the books are rich with terrific female characters.

You would have been better off going with Star Wars, though Leia is a forerunner to basically created the prominent female heroine on film.

I feel like I missed something, did they actually say the five characters we know of now are the only playable characters in the whole game? I just assumed more would be revealed over time since the game is now like at least 6-8 months away?

I'd hope so, but it seems weird that they'd add more characters with the way they structured the trailers up to now.

I mean, her father or mother was half American, and the other parent was full Asian? I'm not sure what else it would mean. And I assume American just means white like it often does in classifying someone as Asian-American.

I have never seen American used like it is a "race", to describe someone as white. The whole point of the US is that is a mixing pot. She could be quarter American and be black or Hispanic.

the 3 most important characters are harry, ron, and hermione. at least, if you asked the whole harry potter community that's the overwhelming answer you'd receive. it is of my opinion though, that voldemort is the second most important character but that's debatable - just like it is debatable that big d and snape are the most important, so i'd say that is your opinion, too.

I am still trying to figure out how one can be Quarter American and what that means.

it's not really a race it's just saying she has white in from maybe her grand father or mother being so and they are from north America. There are other race's from North America which they are aware of. But some of the writers write what they know cause they met someone from there.

it's being used in anime alot of late recently there in japan. such Aria the scarlet ammo(she's related to Sherlock Holmes) she also has a rivalry and partner ship with another character related Arisen Lupine / fugico mina called Rico and there's Also the show Nura the rise of the Yoki Clan.

but in his case he's quarter human while most is yoki blood. it's been happening since the late 90's through the 2000's about as much as japan as been using mutant's in their sci -fi stuff the latest being both the index & Rail gun manga & anime series most likely cause some of the writers were x-Men marvel fans. they are using her in persona 5 to explore a few racial issue's here , with why she's alone til we as the protagonist meets her and we help that all change with social link part of the game .

if you saw Beck Mongolian chop squad the anime there was character in that that was mixture of black America and Japanese it was mostly a show about music which aired on both M tv and Much music in north America when they(those networks) tried to put up anime for a bit them selves.

There's a number of stuff that from japan exploring it to a certain degree.

Unlike Persona 3 and Persona 4, Persona 5‘s story is designed to be like an “omnibus,” with no one specific enemy or criminal that the team chases after. Like a serial drama TV show, the Phantom Thieves change the targets they chase regularly.

A fundamental part of the story is the mystery behind a phone application called “Isekainabi” (“Otherworldnavi” or “Parallel World Navigation&#8221. Using this app, the main characters discover the location of their targets and are able to infiltrate the other world known as “Palace” to steal the hearts of “rotten people.”

The latest look at Persona 5 shows us more of the recently introduced fifth party member, along with the rest of the gang shown at various areas and dungeons.

This week’s issue of Famitsu magazine has a big feature on Persona 5 and shares a look at some of the latest with a bunch of new screenshots. Here’s a look at the latest on the upcoming RPG by Atlus. [Thanks, DualShockers.]

so the cat count's as a female it'll be interesting to see what she looks like when she takes human form. I'm still expecting more characters we'll see what happens though.

As to what X knight said interesting most of my extended family is mixed bi racial from my dad's side at least. so it's always cool to meet others and I happy japan has been embracing it or show more characters like Argil who in sword art online who's a black guy that was born and raised in japan and married a woman from japan and both a game and an image series . it's really cool to see. as I stated before there alot of series that have done this if you really look.

you should also check out the anime Mu -luv too it's a military mecha sci-fi versus aliens with two of the many male protagonist being japanese American. but there lots of strong female characters too which it starts off with first.


it's also a video game series that was recently put in English dubs.

and you know bleach the anime which had chad who's Mexican who's one of ichigo's buddys and there's what that blind black soul reaper guy that worked for the villain Suske Izen. tone's of this over there. Ok time to see if there was anything to day.

Meet Captain Kidd, Carmen, Zorro, and Goemon. (Yusuke, too.)

Atlus has updated the official Persona 5 website with artwork of the game’s newly confirmed Personas and a few updated character descriptions, including one for new character Yusuke Kitagawa.

The Protagonist (voiced by Jun Fukuyama)

The leader of the Phantom Thieves. A 16-year-old young man and second-year high school student who transfers to Shujin High School. He seems quiet and well-mannered at first glance, but gives a completely different impression once he has donned his “phantom thief” guise. He finds residence at the Shiken Cafe run by his parents’ friend. The reason for him moving from the city to the capital Tokyo is currently unknown.




Persona: Arsene


The protagonist’s starting Persona. His face looks like a mask and he has giant black wings. Speaking of the name Arsene, people might often think of the famous thief Arsene Lupin, but where did this Persona really come from and what kind of power is hidden within him?



Ryuji Sakamoto (voiced by Mamoru Miyano)

Just like the protagonist, he is a 16-year-old, second-year student at Shujin High School. He stands out with his wild behavior and seems to be a “problem child” even within the school. More than often, his problematic behavior imposes on the hospitality of the school’s teachers and advisers. There seems to be an incident that caused his bad behavior, but… He meets the protagonist, who changed schools, and his Persona awakens in the wake of a certain event.



Persona: Captain Kidd



Ryuji’s starting Persona. He has a skull head and a cannon-like arm, and rides a giant black pirate ship. He has the same name as the famous pirate known for his repeated looting, but…


Ann Takamaki (voiced by Nana Mizuki)

A 16-year-old, quarter-American, second-year student who attends Shujin High School. Unable to fit in with those around her due to her noticeably different appearance, she isolates herself within the school. For that reason, she chooses her close friends within the school very carefully. She is often seen hanging out with the protagonist and Ryuji Sakamoto. Strange rumors about her have seemingly been circulating the school, but whether or not they’re true is currently unknown. She meets the protagonist, and her Persona awakens in the wake of a certain event.



Persona: Carmen

Ann’s starting Persona. She is a beautiful Persona who wears a bright red, flamenco-style dress. She has a powerful stature, wielding heart-faced men attached to vines in her hands. She is reminiscent of the freewheeling and passionate woman of the same name who appeared in novels and operas, but…



Morgana (voiced by Ikue Otani)

A mysterious black cat that the protagonist and Ryuji help by chance in the Palace of a different world. After that, she lives with the protagonist, sharing both his food and bed. She can talk like a human, as well as seemingly transform into a number of different forms, but her existence is shrouded in many mysteries. She tends to throw around violent language, but is also a devoted member of the Phantom Thieves. Her favorite phrase is, “Don’t call me a cat!”


Persona: Zorro



Morgana’s starting Persona. He is a swordsman Persona who wears a mask to hide his identity and dresses like a gentleman. His trademark is the “Z” he wears on his belt. As a swordsman, he bears close resemblence to the famous thief Zorro.

Yusuke Kitagawa (voiced by Tomokazu Sugita)

An art program scholarship student that attends Kousei Public High School. He’s an eye-catching, handsome young man, but because of his unique sensitivity, gives off the impression of someone other-worldly. His mother passed away when he was young and he became an orphan. As was expected of his artistic talent, he became a live-in disciple of his Japanese painter landlord Madarame. He admires Madarame and spends his days committed to painting. His Persona awakens in the wake of a certain event.


Persona: Goemon





Yusuke’s starting Persona. He’s an eye-catching Persona who wears a flashy, oriental-style outfit. He has a giant pipe, refined pose, and a kabuki-style face. He is reminiscent of the Japanese outlaw thief Ishikawa Goemon.

In addition to the character and Persona artworks and descriptions, Famitsu has published online its interview with Persona 5 director Katsura Hashino from last week’s issue of Weekly Famitsu, providing three new direct-feed screenshots.




















Persona 5 is due out for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in summer 2016.

well zorro was in a sense a criminal and fought against injust laws made by the military of that time so h was mexico's Robin hood. though we never really saw him rob people like the rich (in any of those shows we've seen as kid's , but he fought for the people though)


btw love the name the only other earth telepath on par with professor Xavier and possible more powerful then him cause power effected a planet once .

But I thought you can when a word is used in relation and conjunction with a specific image, visual theme, trope etc.
Like a guy in a black mask, cape, with a sword, is pretty generic, but add the name "Zorro" and the "Z" mark theme in conjunction with the name, as this clearly does (even outrageously characterized), and that becomes instantly recognizable as a reference to a specific known trademark/copyrighted character.

don't worry one piece the pirate manga and anime show did this with Luffy first mate his name is Rornara Zorro who's the swords man of the straw hat crew and the show is still being dubbed in english for Blue of each of it's seasons and the games are still selling as well . it's not really thee absolute image of Zorro being used here but the name and links to him as in inspired

just like how alot of anime and other series from other show's animated aren't be sued for using sherlock and that is really over used
