Cooperation Characters

Seven more Cooperation Characters. As previously detailed, Cooperation Characters are some of the various people that the protagonist and friends will meet, whether in school or in the city, who possess special abilities and skills. Their interests will align with yours, and by building up a relationship of mutual trust, you can establish a cooperative “Co-Op” relationship with them. By deepening your bonds with cooperation characters, you can use their abilities to go about your life as a Phantom Thief more advantageously.

Hifumi Togo (voiced by Tomomi Isomura)
[YT]yGIYAKbOBq0[/YT]

A young lady who attends Kosei Public High School. She holds the championship title in the Female Shogi League. Her appearance has gained her attention as the “too beautiful shogi player.” She practices hard and gives interviews every day for the sake of her mother and for the world of shogi, but…

Toranosuke Yoshida (voiced by Keiichi Noda)

[YT]UutFpdW3wSM[/YT]
A man who gives soapbox speeches outside of Shibuya Station. In the 20 years since he started, he’s lost seven consecutive elections. Given certain circumstances, not very many people stop and listen to Yoshida’s words, but his speeches are actually good. He is seriously confronting the country’s future. His sash reads, “Friendly Society, Bright Future.”

Sadayo Kawakami (voiced by Mai Fuchigami)

[YT]RVl3Ee-myyA[/YT]
A teacher at Syujin High School. She’s in charge of Class 2-B, which has the protagonist, Anne, and Mishima. You’ll catch her throughout the school with unkempt hair and a consistently sleepy face. At first glance, she appears to be a quiet teacher with safety first standards, but…

Chihaya Mifune (voiced by Miyu Matsuki)
[YT]xUhAf2DuHGA[/YT]
A tarot fortune-teller who runs a fortune-telling stand in Shinjuku. She has a bright and cheerful atmosphere about her, but her fortunes always hit the mark. She is rumored to definitely be “a real fortune-teller,” but at the same time apparently recommends these “suspicious stones”….

Shinya Oda (voiced by Aki Kanada)
[YT]J3XHl81kV2Y[/YT]
An elementary school boy who plays at the arcade in Akihabara. He takes pride in his marvelous power in a certain online gun shooting game, and is known as the boy genius player. He seems to long for the “power” of the Phantom Thieves, but what could the reason be?

Ichiko Oya (voiced by Yumi Uchiyama)
[YT]1xDPEccd-sA[/YT]
A gossip reporter in her mid-20s. Since she’ll write whatever story sells, she’ll sometimes manipulate the information in her articles. She seems to have previously been political reporter who fought social evils, but…

Main characters as Cooperation Characters.

P5_07-29-16.jpg

Atlus has updated the Persona 5 official website with new details, artwork, and screenshots.

The new artwork shows each of the main characters in their Phantom Thief outfits.

The details, which are accompanied by the screenshots and aren’t exactly new to our knowledge (but new to the website), are below:
Battle Enemies Using Personas
The Palace is filled with guard-like beings called “Shadows,” which protect the dungeon’s treasure. You can start battles by sneaking up on these Shadows. In addition your weapon, there is the inner power known as the “Persona.” The main characters, whose “Persona Capabilities” have awakened, will use their Personas, their own alter egos, to defeat their enemies.
(Shadows are the “embodiments of human emotions,” twisted by the distorted desires of the Palace’s master. Operating under the Palace master’s influence, Shadows will ambush the main characters.)
Take Part in Various School Events
During the day, you’ll attend school as a student. In the morning, you’ll commute to school by train. On days that you’re lucky and get a seat, you can make use of the time by reading. At school, you’ll actually take classes. And if you meet certain conditions, it’s also possible to skip class…
From ball game tournaments to seaside cultural festivals and field trips, there are all sorts of events for each season that you can participate in during your school life.
Cooperation Characters
Futaba, Ryuji, Anne, Yusuke, Haru, Makoto, and Morgana—although main characters—are also available as Cooperation Characters.

Thanks, I'm a big JRPG fan some of my all time favourites are The Legend of Dragoon, FFVII and Dragon Quest IV.

it has been a bit disappointing with JRPGs last few years but I love Atlus games (SMT, Persona etc.) and it looks like they are making a bit of a come back with FFXV and news Tales games etc.

Here’s an overview of the game, via Deep Silver:
About
Persona 5 is a game about the internal and external conflicts of a group of troubled high school students – the protagonist and a collection of compatriots he meets in the game’s story – who live dual lives as Phantom Thieves. They have the typically ordinary day-to-day of a Tokyo high schooler: attending class, after-school activities and part-time jobs. But they also undertake fantastical adventures by using otherworldly powers to enter the hearts of people. Their power comes from the Persona, the Jungian concept of the “self”. The game’s heroes realize that society forces people to wear masks to protect their inner vulnerabilities, and only by literally ripping off their protective mask and confronting their inner selves do the heroes awaken their inner power, and use it to strive to help those in need. Ultimately, the group of Phantom Thieves seeks to change their day-to-day world to match their perception and see through the masks modern-day society wears.
Features

 • Persona 5 is the first numbered title of the award-winning franchise on home consoles since the PS2 generation.
 • Fast-paced Japanese role-playing game mechanics, exciting action sequences, deep and engaging story.
 • Vibrantly stylized characters, enemies, and environments, elegant anime-style cut-scenes.
 • Soundtrack featuring the fresh sounds of acid jazz composed by the legendary composer Shoji Meguro.
 • A standalone story experience that welcomes newcomers and veteran Persona players alike.

Persona 5 introduces Mementos Dungeon, Persona Fusion

Send off your Persona for training.

P5-Fami-Scan_08-16-16.jpg

The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu offers new details on Persona 5‘s Mementos Dungeon and Personas.

Here’s the information:
Mementos Dungeon
Different from the Palace, which are dungeons created as reflections of the hearts of the general public, the Mementos Dungeon is a random dungeon whose form changes each time you enter. There are quests to find and reform the Shadows lurking within, but since Shadows are based on the general public, their trends of action will change according to things such as the day’s weather.
If you missed it, catch the Mementos Dungeon in action here.
Personas
Your Personas will gain experience point bonuses depending on your level with Cooperation Characters. And the more skills a Persona has acquired, the more skills that can be carried over during Persona fusion. You can select which skills are carried over if you want, too.
Guillotine (Persona Fusion)
In Persona 5, Persona fusion is carried out at the Guillotine. There’s the “Two-Body Guillotine,” “Group Guillotine,” and “Search Guillotine.” The last one perhaps lets you summon a specified Persona from a book of illustrations, even without a guillotine.

 • Hanging – Sacrifice one Persona as experience points for another Persona. There are social game training-like elements to it. If the Personas are of the same Arcana, the experience points you acquire will increase.
 • Electric Chair – Sacrifice a Persona to create a high-rank item or tool.
 • Solitary Send-Off – Send off and your Persona to train and learn skills to overcome their weaknesses. The required number of in-game days is shortened based on your Arcana Co-op Level.
According to Persona 5 director Katsura Hashino, the reason that these all sound like executions is to keep in line with the game’s theme of erasing your own mask and giving birth to a new self.
Persona 5 is due out for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on September 15 in Japan, and on February 14 in the Americas and Europe.
Thanks, Famitsu and Sokuho@Hokanko.

 • Yusuke Kitagawa – Fox
 • Makoto Niijima – Queen
 • Futaba Sakura – Navi
 • Haru Okumura – Noir
Let’s Take on the Palace

The distinctly unique Palace hinders your path! It’s a place that, at first glance, may seem like there is no way through, but by pressing the Circle button, you can climb scaffolds and walls, or jump across chandeliers.

Exhilarating Battles Evolved
The command-your-Persona battle has further evolved. With the “Direct Command,” you can attack at the press of a button.

Strike the enemy’s weakness and bring them down. And when a “1 More” is triggered, you can attack an additional time. Take advantage of the enemies’ weaknesses to gain the upper hand in battle.

In some situations during battle, you’ll be able to converse with a Shadow. If the conversation goes well, the Shadow can become a Persona for the protagonist.

Join the Phantom Thieves Alliance.

Persona-5-Online_Fami-shot_08-30-16.jpg

The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu has first details on Persona 5‘s online features.
Find the information below.

 • Phantom Thieves Alliance – Enjoy Persona 5 even more by using this network element. Whether or not you use this feature is up to you and has no effect on the story.
 • Battle – In battle, an ally can be taken hostage when they’re knocked out. If you refuse demands for an item and fail negotiations, your ally will no longer be able to battle. But by using the Phantom Thieves Alliance, you can receive help from other players.
 • Alertness Meter – If you’re detected while in the dungeon, your Alertness Meter will rise and security will become strict. In the worst case, you won’t be able to continue through the dungeon, but you can lower your Alertness Level by launching a surprise attack on the enemy. Although there are enemies that will run away in a pinch, which raises your Alertness Meter, this can be prevented through the Phantom Thieves Alliance.
 • Daily Parts (Pictured) – During your daily life as a high school student, you can interact with cooperation characters, take on part-time jobs, etc. When you’re not sure what to do, you can check what other players did on that day. There is also a survey feature that shows everyone’s answer percentage for questions answered during class.
Persona 5 is due out for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on September 15 in Japan, and on February 14 in the Americas and Europe.
Thanks, Famitsu and Hachima Kikou.
