PES6 and FIFA 360 will be next-gen exclusives for 12 months.

Evo and FIFA are both massive in the UK, and I suspect the rest of Europe.

Awesome news. PES is far superior to FIFA though :/

Soccer moves a lot of systems in Europe and Japan. If both Pro Evolution Soccer/Winning Eleven and FIFA are 360 exclusives for the next 12 months, it will sell a lot of 360s in the region to junkies who want desperately want their soccer fix for Christmas.

MEGATON!

Soccer moves consoles in Europe. This news freaking rocks!

Dude, people shouldn't need to pay in excess of £300 just to play the new FIFA. It's a horrible idea thought up by horrible people.

What the... are you, like, special or something? Can you not see how it's bad idea?

I'm going to go right ahead and assume that all who approve already own a 360, right? In which case, of course it's a good idea as you get to carry on as normal. But I bet you'd be over the hill if some bright spark decided that Insert Your Fave Movie Here DVD would be next gen exclusive for 12 months.

Oh, and please don't be a smart arse by saying that you already own the next gen equivelent of a standard DVD player as I could just as easily used a cinema release as European/American exclusive for 12 months.

Yeah, I'm gonna get a 360, but in my own time and because I'm the natural progression of gaming consoles, but not because of some below the belt money grabbing tactics employed at MS.

It's only exclusive as far as Nextg Gen consoles go, the PS2 version will still be available, and there won't be any gameplay difference between them (or if Fifa is EA there stands a good chance that they'll strip features out of the next gen version ).

Have some common sense mate.

There are millions of 360 owners out there. Why should we suffer because your cheap ass wants to wait for a price drop?

Plus, the only other place you will eventually get to play fifa and pes is ps3, and that will cost you close to £500. You tell me which is better.

Great way to sell consoles I guess, but I don't really give a **** about soccer, so meh. I was sort of hoping that this Leipzig thing would give us some better news, but I guess I'll have to wait for X06.

so is this Leipzig thingy in Europe or something? Cause it seems like all the news so far really caters mainly to Europeans and not so much anyone else.

Yeah, it's in Germany I think. It was hyped as the "next E3!11", but so far it just sucks

Spaz, why would you be suffering? It would still be readily available on the 360... but you've just confirmed my initial suspicion that all in favour already own said console, in which case, why are you bothered either way?
I'm not saying it should be on one or the other, but rather on both. It makes no sense. If anything, EA/Konami will lose money on this one, as I doubt there are that many people daft enough to buy a 360 just for the football. If anything, moves like this make me not want to buy the damn thing. The preasure on parents from kids is going to be ridiculous.

Oh, and it's not being a 'cheap ass', it's not being a chump.

Huh? Look, no-one has provided any sort of argument as to why this is a good thing. Please, I'm dying to know. Ideally, I'd like to hear from non 360 owners who are being smart, sorry, cheap asses, by not bending over and taking it.

I own the original XBOX and find it to be a cool little machine. I will be buying a 360. That's not the issue. The issue is the question of the exclusivity of next gen football titles, which I find, quite frankly, to be appalling, for the reasons that I have stated in the above posts.

This is the part were someone at least attempts to counter the argument.

Dope.

Seriously, what is your problem?

Could somebody please tell me why Fifa2007 and PES6 being next gen exclusive is a good thing? as this concept of discussion is clearly alien to this guy...

That's all I ask.

Wow, "ideally I'd only like to hear from people who are going to agree with me", what a joke. It's good because it means the game will take more advantage of the hardware it's on rather than being a more vanilla port. It's good for Microsoft because it will sell more consoles, which leads to it being good for gamers as it will cause their console to get more support and games. It's good for various reasons, and is certainly not bad, unless you DON'T own a 360, which goes into the reasoning behind the deal, to get you to buy one. If you don't want the game enough for a 360, then hey, great, you obviously won't miss it and thus it's of no consequence that you can't play it on your favorite system and you won't need to continue discussing it.

Don't give him the time, he's not worth any of it.
