I think that Live will reign... [Microsoft] has a much longer track record and history of multiplayer gaming, and I think they absolutely will have the lead. It's going to be excruciatingly difficult for anyone - including Sony - to take that away from Microsoft. They're way too far ahead.

Also included in the interview is an explination on why WOW wont be coming to PS3 or X360.

I know it's late at night (at least where I am) so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you misread the article, but WoW will NOT be coming to 360 or PS3...

Fact of the matter is I didn't even read the article. I just thought it was some kind of confirmation of a 360 version of WOW that's been rumored for so long. My bad.

I never really thought that WOW was 360 bound. If they didn't upgrade the visuals, they'd be releasing a MMO with PS1-type visuals against games like Huxley, that are MMO's that still look fantastic, and if they did upgrade the visuals, they'd have to dedicate a large portion of Blizzard's resources towards it and they'd essentially be working on the same game for like ten years, which I doubt they wanna do.

Screw Huxley. Microsoft has ENSEMBLE making a 360 MMO. And then there is, of course, the Marvel MMO too.

Playing against others will be free, but they do plan on some
subscription plan for downloadable games and other content.
