VOTE WITH YOUR WALLETS!! If Peter and MJ break up, and you're against it, then drop the damn book. Simple as that. I'd almost welcome it, seeing as how they're upping the price and frequency of ASM. Seriously, if they screw it up, that's about 24 more bucks a month in my pocket. That's more than half what I spend a month!

Agreed; however, we should do a little more. A good letter writing campaign (please don't curse Joey Q out, it won't help and make us sound stupid) along with emails to every person connected to Pete along with a veto of any book (other than spider-girl and SMLMJ) might just have an impact if enough people get behind it.

That way, just MAYBE someone at MArvel will read it, and they'll contain and marriage break-up nonsense for only an Arc or two, and then get back to some progression instead of the regression to the ol' parker days. (which was GOOD, back THEN) when we read it BEFORE.

I dunno...maybe someone at Marvel will get on here, newsarama, (somewhere!!) and notice that what "Marriage Controversy" really stands for is the OPPOSITE of what JQ paints it.

What most people want is a WELL WRITTEN MARRIAGE. THAT is the REAL controversy.

Not a cheap cop out of stories featuring mindwiped/timeswept superhero spouses to further JQ's anti-marriage agenda.

Really, this poll probably won't do anything to prevent what's going to happen in OMD. The story is probably already laid out, with a lot of the art drawn and the scripts written. JQ might notice it, but I doubt it'll stop him. If they do what they're implying to the marriage, though, not even Dan Slott will bring me back to the title.

That's true I suppose. A big enough loss in sales might convince JQ to retcon the marriage back into being (assuming that OMD is splitting them up.)

They'll be retconning the marriage for sure if they split it up like it looks they will, it is only a matter of time.

They'll have a big event (an ARC) with MJ returning, remembering, no longer a superhero,....or what-have-you....

Except if JQ is still in charge (man, it is SO hard not to stoop to name calling with him), we know it will just be more hype and it won't go ANYWHERE.

We know now they will NEVER allow Peter to marry... it is just going to be one culdesac and deadend after another... after another... after another... after another... after another... after another... ad nauseum.

And JUST as BAD... I can see them turning what used to be romantic scenes between a loving married couple into something... let's say, less wholesome... that kids shouldn't be reading.

See, I know a lot of you don't care about stuff like that... morality is not that important... but that's another reason why killing the marriage is a DUMB thing to do. Some of us DO care about it. Married, there is no conflict for anyone, and the "mushy" scenes are romantic, "awww" moments. Unmarried... I'm censoring it from the kids.

At least I would be if I was still reading it... which I won't be if they go down this path.

I want to see Peter and MJ stay together. But if Marvel has a very interesting way and good story to make them separate (BUT still keeping MJ in the comic), I'm willing to give Marvel another chance.

A mindwiped married couple (Pete and MJ) in love triangles cluelessly dating other people, or each other....just opens a can of worms and makes them look unfaithful, regardless....AND at some point, they are bound to remember that they are married, if JQ allows them to that is.

When you really love someone, even if you're mindwiped or timeswept by a marvel editor, (oy...) ...i'm sorry, but you'd eventually remember at some point your true love when you saw them over and over.

And if JQ just doesn't "mention it", after midwiping them (if they do that)...that doesn't make anything better or right. That doesn't make them no longer married. I'm not gonna pretend along with JQ they're not married and wink at the characters as he throws the married couple into love triangles, as he's nodded to.

That only makes them an amnesic clueless married couple. Is that what people want???

I want to see a well written marriage, that is treated with respect.

Nor do i want to see Pete and MJ not realizing they're married and "Dating" just each other again. We've already seen that!

It just seems that any of JQ's options would take us backwards, by not advancing the marriage.
