just got back from a comic book workshop as part of a festival on visual arts in my hometown of Exeter. it was wicked! feel really inspired, and the guy taking it [artist from Blinktwice studios] was really complimentary about my work. hurrah!

those of you who regularly check out my thread will know that my mate is running a series of muslim/jewish cultural exchange nights and that i've been doing the posters and flyers for it. the latest one is coming up, and it's a poetry slam and graffiti exhibition. here's my design for the poster [by the way, the lettering is arabic for "salaam" and hebrew for "shalom" entwined]:

wow, I haven't posted anything for ages. as i mentioned in a couple of other people's threads, i've been down in the dumps ever since my girlfriend dumped me a few weeks ago, and I've been finding it very difficult to get down to drawing. but hopefully i'm on the road to recovery! anyway this first pic was going to be my entry for last month's contest, only i missed the deadline, but i figured i may as well finish it... used it as an opportunity to try out a new colouring technique. I'm sure everyone will instantly recognize it as a Phig-style depiction of the classic scene in Frank Miller's seminal Dark Knight Returns:

next up: I've been watching my Aeon Flux dvds and marvelling at how supremely great they are [and how supremely sexy she is!] so i figured i'd have a go at drawing her. just lines so far...

This is brilliant! I like your type of style on your artworks. And the "photoshopped" effects are cool too.

Welcome back Phig. You may have briefly lost your spirit, but you obviously didn't lose your talent. The new pieces are great. Especially love the above.
