KAD, i should check him out properly.
in the meantime... man, i'm so ****, i never finish anything. one of these days i'm going to publish a book and it's going to be called "100 unfinished stories"...
here's the latest effort... basically been chatting to some dude who runs a website about art in my local area and he was up for featuring my barbarian character as a weekly feature on his site. so i've been trying to develop the idea... i'm not happy with the style so i'm going to redo it, but i'd like for you guys to take a look and tell me what you think. so this is my initial attempt at page 1:

there are speech bubbles which go with it but seeing as i'm not happy with it i didn't bother formatting them. also, i can't give away the story to you guys just yet!
commission character design for my mate's website... based loosely on the african trickster god Eshu. what do you guys think?

Heh. The characters and the soft tones are great. I look forward to seeing more from this.
Holy crap. That turned out awesome. I love the juxtaposition of what looks like cyborg/futuristic with a more almost midevil tie in. fantastic, Phig.
Heh. Those are great Phig. Thanks for sharing.
Good luck in the play. or, erm. break a leg?
here's an entry i did for a competition to design a cover for regional arts magazine "evolver"

Wow, this is awesomehope you guys don't mind me cluttering my thread with yet more unashamedly non-superheroic pieces, but as you may know i'm in a play which opens next week, "The Burial at Thebes" which is a version of the ancient greek tragedy "Antigone" by Sophocles. Anyway, it's in modern dress, although clearly set in ancient greece... bearing this cultural fusion in mind (cultural syncretism, even... i love that word!) for the programme i wanted to create a faux theban/british tabloid newspaper, modelled clearly (for those of you who know/care) after british tabloid "The Sun"... here are the pages i did. as cheeks would never have to say, hope someone out there digs!

I can understand that but you should keep doing them for fun if you get the chance.very nice of you to say so. yeah, i've moved towards more realistic proportions after some editors told me that my extreme funky fluid style wasn't commercial, but i like that old stuff too.
yo gang
i've been away for a long time... if you want to keep track of me then Deviantart is a better bet... but anyway, at Kadster's encouragement, and despite the fact that none of this is recognizable superhero fare... here's some of the stuff i've been doing recently
enjoy!

I truly dig the idea of 5 but some how it doesn't jive with me
You taught in Japan? What were you teaching?number 5: that's actually an old drawing i made for a school poster back when i was teaching in Japan; i found it the other day and decided to jazz it up in photoshop. i was quite happy with how it turned out, but... fair enough man!!
