Someplace in the tech support forum is an excellent discussion on digital cameras, but Search is toast and I'm going to bed. You might dig through it and see if you can find it, though. Lot's of good info for someone looking to get into digital photography.

It doesn't matter what we consider it to be. FACT: it is a medium which as and still is tapped by artists.

If you want to just start out with a less expensive digital camera, I'd recommend one from the Canon Powershot series....I have an A520, which was over $200 because I got it around when it first came out, but I know you can get it much cheaper now that it's been out for a while. Takes pretty decent pictures in my opinion. Here's a review of the product.

I personally just love taking pictures for fun....sure, a super expensive professional camera would be awesome, but for now I'm happy with this one.
