Don't know why this is happening because I've been using PS for a while and it hasn't happened. When I go on CS3 (either the normal way or "run as admin") it gets to the window where it's loading everything, and once the actual PS comes up, before I can do anything I get an error message that says the topic title. I've googled it and there are similar problems documented, but none of them have worked for me.

I've got Vista, 64-bit, which is probably the problem because Vista sucks. I'm updating to 7 around the 15th, so hopefully it'll work fine then? I know a lot of you are pretty amazing at Photoshop from looking at the Fan Art section, so you've probably dealt with this problem before.

(BTW, I'm pretty much computer illiterate, which can't be helping things.)

on the photoshop cs3 icon, right click goto properties, and then the compatibility tab, click the tick box "run for compatibility for" choose windows xp

This may or may not work, and if it does its really only a quick fix, maybe you should try uninstalling photoshop then sticking it back on if it doesn't work

Yeah, that's one of the things I tried and it didn't do anything, but thanks for the reply. Guess I've got to uninstall it and hope that works. Do you know whether or not they've fixed this with Windows 7?

well im running windows 7 with cs3 and so far (a month) ive had no problems

Did you buy or download CS3 from somewhere?

If you legally bought it I'd contact their customer support via phone or e-mail detailing your problem as it could be any number of things. There is also some troubleshooting information on their website.

If you illegally downloaded it, I'd say your problem probably is you've accepted one of Adobe's software updates while connected to the internet. One of the updates I believe renders any unpurchased copy unusable..

At first I was using a downloaded CS3, but a while ago I got a good deal on it so since then I've been using a bought copy.
