I like the sound of the 1st one, it will do everything you want and its the cheaper, plus i like AMD chips haha and it has Vista as well

Then why are both Packard bell? haha, best thing you can do is! once you have thought "right im having this one" google the hell out of it looking for reviews. you will soon sum up if its any good or not

both are packard bell cause they were the best i could see when i was looking in the showroom, i didnt hear the storys untill i went back online just now

Option 1, but see if they'll install XP on it for you. Vista won't be completely usable for another 3 years, I just bought a new Vista laptop (Dell XPS) and Vista is probably the crappiest OS I've ever used.

yeah after looking into them, getting either of these is definatly a no go

i seen one which is a SONY N21M/W LAPTOP - SONY N21M/W INTEL CORE DUO T2350 PROCESSOR 1.86GHZ LAPTOP, its priced around 700 to 750 pounds

# Intel Core Duo T2350 Processor 1.86GHz
# 533MHz FSB
# 2MB Cache
# 1024MB RAM
# 100GB Hard Drive
# Dual Layer DVD ReWriter MultiDrive
# 15.4" Widescreen X-Black Display
# Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium
# 256MB Intel GMA 950 Shared Graphics
# 1 Year Free Warranty

sadly from what i've seen everything is now going to have vista, i've seen a few with xp but they come no where near the others in specs

I hate widescreen laptops. i dont see the point. but thats just me :D

Stay away from Sony laptops, I have not heard good things. Try checking out ebay. Even check out the buy it now options. They have laptops as cheap as $150 US currency. Not sure what you need, but for $500 you can definitely find a good deal. Also try Ubid.com

You know, as soon as i saw you had posted in this thread, i knew what was coming :p

Haha! Now all we need is aptget to pop in and tell him to build his own laptop and the circle will be complete. :D
