Oh man... I HATED that story. It makes no sense on any level. The only reason that story even happened was that Tim Drake was UBER popular and they wanted an excuse to team up Superman and Robin.

I always had an idea I called VEMPIRE, about the Vampire Empire, a secret society of Vamps in the DCU. They were spread out all over and they considered the JLA their greatest potential threat to the existence of Vampires, especially the trinity.
