Hi guys.
I was rewatching Begins the other day, and I noticed that one of my favorite scenes in the movie does not have its music on the BB Soundtrack.

It begins the morning that Bruce wakes up after having been gassed for two days. You know the part where he talks with Fox about 'receptor compounds' and 'protein based catalysts'?
Then he greets Rachel at the door, and she hands him his present?
The piece of music I'm looking for and I love so much starts as she begins to drive away, and just as the car turns around he whirls, handing the present to Alfred as they walk.
Alfred says "But guest's will be arriving soon."
Bruce replies, "Keep them happy until I arrive, tell them that joke you know."
The music continues to the piano, where he presses the right keys, enters the elevator and descends into the Batcave, and finally opens the large closet and we see the Begins cowl under the light.

That whole piece is nowhere to be found on the soundtrack.
Why?
And is there some way of getting it?

???
First off, I've seen Crimson Tide, and while there is a slight resemblance, ITS MADE BY THE SAME GUY! All composers have little styles they like to use alot, so what if its similar, it certainly isn't a copy.

Secondly, What maze? He goes through a secret door (an obvious good idea, who wants a big neon sign saying "Here's the entrance to my Batcave.) down an elevator, down a small flight of stairs and into a little tunnel. Bam, theres the Batsuit in a nice little closet. Maze? Uh...maybe a kiddie maze...

Thirdly, this whole scene is amazing. The look on Bale's face as he turns away from the door means all business, and his voice as he's walking with Alfred is almost like he's warming up to Batman and stepping out of Bruce Wayne. And the music of course, accompanies the scene excellently.

Hope your stay at the Hype was enjoyable while it lasted...BC you won't be around for much longer what that kind of attitude. :o

I know the score you're talking about and I think there was a thread that asked for the same piece of music. I have no idea why this isn't on the soundtrack and I don't believe an answer was found in the older thread either. But I'd love to have it to, I know which one you're talking about.

That great piece when Bruce descends into the cave and reveals the Batsuit as he goes off to follow Rachel to Arkham Asylum. Yeah that bit of music is awesome.

lonzoe, tune it down with the language.

COMICFILMEXPERT can't spell "with" correctly. I know Hans scored Crimson Tide that's why I said it. Just like BB spoonfeeds you. I guess I have to spoonfeed you too Dork Guardian. The scene was something you'd expect from a Batman movie and NOTHING new just like Zimmer's score for BB. That's why I wish Howard had done this on his own ,but it wouldn't have made a difference with Nolan on it, because he wouldn't let any composer do what they are hired to do which is to write music that tells and enhances the movie and story. Something that a lot of film scores are lacking today.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh nice come back. I would expect that with an avatar like that. I mean that's the best you can come up with . Now that's excuses. I bet if I said the same about Elfman you won't be quick to defend him you'll be bashing him too. Moron.

When Morg said to tone it down....that means to stop with the name calling too. Try to learn to play nice.

i think hanz zimmer needs to step up his game with TDK. his score for BB was weak, and now im hearing hes gonna finally make a theme. IMO TDK looks like its gonna be THE batman film we should have had 2 ears ago, and that BB seems kinda like the false start, preperation for THE awsome batman movie, which will be TDK. BB was just a warmup for me, not the real deal. TDK will be the real deal, and hopefully zimmers "bat theme" will be on par with elfmans. but personally, i dont think anything will ever be able to replace elfman for me.

Yikes, because lonzoe's earlier post was deleted, I thought for a sec you were yelling at me.
I threw up my hands and said "I give up! Don't ban me!"
Then I remembered his post and realized that was your reply. Whew...

Thank you. Thats pretty much all I was looking to know, I wasn't really expecting this thread to turn into a slugfest...
Anyways, thanks. Maybe some day we'll get it. I suppose we can always rip it off the DVD, but we'll still have the voices and the sound of the piano. Oh well...

And for the record Lonzoe, if you're going to state that you hate BB, at least have the decency to state why, you just make yourself look even worse when you go spouting off at people with no comparisons, no facts, not even a good analogy.

This thread can be closed now.

That missing piece is my favourite score from the movie

i hope that is the earned theme in tdk but extended :woot:

Keep it up and you won't be a problem in here long. :ninja:

Well this seems like a nice thread.

I never said I hated BB. I was one of the few Batfans who was very, very, very, (there's just not enough verys) disappointed by it. I expected more. I got more of the same from the franchise and genre. I don't hate the score either it's just I don't get all the praise. I thought the score was very, very,(theres just not enough verys) GENERIC. Zimmer phone it in IMO. Howard couldn't do much. Especially on the scene you guys are describing. That was something Zimmer could in his sleep. The only cue that I believe was written well was the music for the monorail scene with Bruce and his parents and the scene Batman was on fire crying for Alfred. And both of those I notice after I heard it on the CD and not during the movie.Thats the only tracks I listen to when I listen to the CD. I didn't hate the score. I just thought it was average at best.

Definately. The only thing we can expect from Zimmer is to try to improve, but if he pulls us a Pirates 3 score kind of thing, we can expect nothing. And for Elfman, you're right, he's my favorite composer!!! His music for Batman Returns stills moves me emotionnally today, while Zimmer's BB is dimnishing in intensity each time I watch the movie
