Which C-list marvel characters do you feel could be turned into A-list?
How would you pimp them characters?

What makes a C-Lister? Big Wheel? Rhino? Shocker? Hypno hustler?

Give me some examples and I'll see what I can do.

Give Squirrel Girl a fire tail!!!!

I have some ideas to make Demogoblin an A-list character but I'm holding onto them for multiple reasons. Partially due to the far-fledged dream of writing for Marvel, but primarilly because I might use the story to write my own novel substituting Marvel characters with original creations. I'll say this though, it'd incude Demogoblin, Jason Macendale, Spider-Man, Lucifer, God, the Living Tribunal, the Sentry, Lady Death, the Goblin Force (from Mutant X), and some misc. X-Men humans like Charlotte Jones and Ishmael Ortega (from District X). And that's just the first 10 or 12 issues.

MAN I want to write this story! Knowing that I'll likely never make it to Marvel I'll have to seriously consider rethinking it as an original novel. I'd hate to lose it as a Marvel story though. I feel like it'd do such wonders for some of the more forgotten characters from both Earth and the Cosmic landscape.

C-listers are not necessarily flat out jokes (like squirrel girl no offense)
Some characters out there are either not using their power to their fullest, their interpretation has not aged well. Stilt man among all the flyers, most of the serpent society, great lake avengers. It could be the look , the way they use their powers, something that's keeping this character from being credible against say the avengers.

The Prowler
Cardiac
Ikaris
Ransak
Gargoyle
Devil-Slayer
Night Thrasher
Songbird
Mach V
Tarene, and many of the A:TI Characters such as Prodigy, Hardball, Cloud 9, Gauntlet
Mr. Hyde
Darkhawk ( I still think he could be a huge character)

-Old New Warriors villains

-Bengal
-Sphinx
-Harrier/ Cardinal
-Star Thief (not really a villian)

Sliver Surfer characters

Paibok
Firelord
Midnight/Midnight Sun/M'nai
Nebula
Killraven
Badoon
I still demand More Count Nefaria and Graviton
Phantom RIder
Shroud

I could talk all day about the C-list...love it

BTW Very Hard to actually turn somebody into A-list..this takes years..but solid B-list is reasonable

Squirrell girl was actually a good character in New Avengers.

Bendis gave Squirrel Girl a fantastic role in New Avengers being Danielle Cage's nanny. I'm hoping that Bendis includes her in that role whenever he gets back around to the Cage family, as has been hinted.

I'd really hoped for another GLA mini by now..whatever happened to mini series anyway

BTW..how is this not cool:

Good list. I'm hoping that Slott really does Cardiac well.

I'd also add Ricochet (Johnny Gallo) to the list. I wouldn't mind seeing a team of Gravity, Ricochet, Prodigy and a few other A:TI and Avengers Academy characters together.

Colleen Wing is one that I've wished for years that Marvel would try to push. Her mini-series during Shadowland, Daughters of the Shadow, was one of the few highlights of that event for me. Unfortunately, though, it's hard for even female characters like Black Widow to sustain their own title, so I doubt Colleen would ever really have a chance.

Black Tarantula could easily be up there with guys like Scarlett Spider, in my opinion. Former Spider-Man villain with a decent origin and a cool look: what's not to like? Don't know why he never got a similar shot at his own book, or at the very least a mini-series.

I'd love to see Cardiac, Black Tarantula, and Shocker get a big push.

I once had an idea where Cardiac pulls together and finances a team of vigilantes who were long in comic book limbo and call them the Forgotten. They'd work under the radar, etc. I'm trying to remember who else was on the team but I think Random was on it. Man, that was years and years ago.

I think it would be great to see more of villain Nightshade (Tilda Johnson). There aren't many supergenius women in comics and even less that are black women.

She could be bumped up a level as a villain to be a bigger threat.
As well as being a villain for the likes of Captain America, Black Panther and Luke Cage I think Nightshade also work well as a Iron Man, Hulk and Hank Pym villain due to her genius intellect and technology skills.

They could put her in the Intelligencia or Cabal.

Luke Cage has a few villains from his old comics that could be updated to work.

Wasn't she the one that was in either Shadowland: Power Man or Powerman & Iron Fist? Black chick, afro. I could be wrong, but if that was her then I wasn't really all that impressed.

She was in Shadowland..also Modoks 11

Didn't he just get killed in Avengers Arena?

I dont think he's dead..he appears on more covers and is talked about in the solicits until issue 8..yet I have no doubt that he wont make it out of that book alive..but that book doesnt count anyway.

I know exactly what you mean. Maybe i found a way around this situation but i need to work on it, if what i can muster is ok, i'll give you a head's up.

Cardiac has a good premise but is kept in the oubliettes... i think a healer in a team would be of great importance.

If they treated armadillo like a feral (wolvie, sabertooth type) or a hulk buster (A-bomb and the deceased abomination) he could be amazing.

Not sure if he would qualify, but Triathlon:

I would get rid of the underwear, in fact I'd probably alter his costume a little more. Making it more
"Ultimate" by adding seems, variations in fabrics and armor (like Cap), have him join the Avengers
again. Become as prominent on the team as he was back when Busiek introduced him. Play up his
powers slightly, showing his limits that even though he is as strong and as fast and as agile as three
men he isn't all powerful. Havehim interact with other characters like Spider-Man, Hulk, Wolverine,
the X-Men, SHIELD.Not sure if he would still be called 3-D Man or keep the goggles to see Skrulls.
Maybe only pull them out when necessary. Should he be 3-D Man or Triathlon?

I like the idea of this thread, getting creative. I'll think of more later.

Working on an idea for Rage,
191721-89903-rage.jpg

something to do with Norman Osborne.
He is essentially still a teenager. So I would maybe have him
had been experimented on by Osborne, like the other teens in
Avengers Academy. But unlike them he was already an Avenger
and a hero, so he wasn't put on that team. But his powers were
altered. He now reverts back and forth to his teen self and his
superhero self. He would be similar to DC's Captain Marvel, or
more like the Hulk. His power is activated when he is mad or at
risk of harm. But maybe his powers come at a price, like the
others Osborne experimented on his powers could kill him.
I would also alter his costume, make it more of a costume I guess.
For that, I'd have to think and sketch. But I would imagine something
more like a Doc Samson type costume. Simple shirt with a symbol.
Some symbol that would show rage and power. Maybe no mask.
Now that I think about it, with his powers being so similar anyway
I would have Rage become part of the Hulk family, along with Red
Hulk, Red She-Hulk, Doc Samson, She-Hulk, A-Bomb, Abomination,
daughter of Hulk and Thundra, and Skaar. I would have his Elvin
Daryl Haliday work along with Dr. Banner.

For a second I thought Red Hulk was going to be Doc Samson, and that is how they would revamping his character.
Making him turn into the giant red hulk, and become evil.

Batroc the Leaper always has a place in my memories. I first saw him in the 60's and I started learning about the martial art savate.

The reason this means something to me is....I am a big Doc Savage fan, Doc and his 5 aides met while in World War One. The character "Ham" (who served in the French Army during that time) is noted for always having a cane with him and using it in combat. While reading up on "Savate" I found that the French army taught it to it's forces during WWI....and a subsection of savate is one that specializes in using canes as weapons.

Mole Man: I would have him get a power upgrade, probably
from Terrigan Mist, or what was that thing that evolved the Thing?
Anyway, I would have him develop Earth moving powers like Rictor.
He would be like that girl on Avatar the Last Air Bender, an Earth
Bender almost. Like Rictor, or Avalanche, he could cause the ground,
and earth around him to move and shake and crumble. Maybe like the
Earth Bender hesense things through the ground, sort of like Daredevil's
radar senses. That way he would be more dangerous, make people fear
him. Maybe also give him some minor mind control over his Moloids and
monsters around him. Sort of like Aquaman's power, now he only pushes
them mentally. And maybe give him sovereign status like Dr. Doom over
Monster Island.

Rage..now your talking

Firmly belongs with the New Warriors.

I think the pitch with that crew is so simple....you bring back the NW roster at issue 25 of Vol. 1.(which i belie7ve is the oG roster + Rage, Darkhawk, and sil)
