This a rumor going around that Dr. Strange might be a Pixar animated film instead of live-action. Now This could be interesting all together and with Dr. Strange's magic and his world, animation might work better than live and the effects cost.
What do you think?

I'm not a particular fan of Dr. Strange, but I think any Pixar/Marvel project would be cool.

I'd like to see Pixar spin off a whole Marvel division and release two Pixar/Marvel features per year. I haven't been paying enough attention to know if anything like that has been suggested or is a realistic possibility.

I would prefer live action too, but when you think about all those crazy Ditko landscapes and whatnot, maybe CG animation would be the best option to realise DrS. How much of a budget would a live action DrS get? Probably not enough to really give us a full trip worthy of him.
I know it was not made by Pixar, but if they did some of the effects like Coraline, thinking of stuff like that crazy tunnel she went through, imagine some of the mosiaical kalidascopic environments he could be conjuring up with a CG animated movie.

Oooooh, I would be down for this! As long as the characters don't look overly cartoon-y. And they didn't totally gear it towards kids. But I'm almost willing to believe this will get canned in favor of a live-action version and I'm down with that, too.

I would like to see live action as well.

But if they make this CGI and it looks real and not like a kids flick then I'm all for this.

I would prefer live action but Pixar is a favorite of mine.To think of the visuals they could pull of with Ditko as an inspiration would be amazing.

Well Pixar is starting to get into live action films to a certain extent with John Carter of Mars and 1906.

Where've I been? I haven't heard about John Carter of Mars. Sweet!

If Dr. Strange is going happen is going to be live-action. I don't see this other than just a what if? project as I doubt they will take the character in the animated direction for a feature film.

When you say filming for months...this is live action as well?

Yep. It won't have the Pixar name on it, but Pixar has been involved with the project and put Andrew Stanton, Mark Andrews, Jim Morris, and other Pixar employees have been put "on loan" to Walt Disney Pictures.

The Pixar name won't be used due to the Pixar brand being an all ages brand while John Carter of Mars will be a PG-13 film, and the head honchos at Pixar don't want to turn it into a live action studio, but it is to some extent, a Pixar production.

Also, 1906 hasn't been officially cancelled yet. It has been postponed due to concerns from Warner Bros over the budget. Hopefully, it will get made because it sounds like it could be a great film. This film, unlike John Carter of Mars, was going to have the Pixar label on it.

If they can't make Dr. Strange live action they might as well make Avengers animated.... more cost effective... :whatever:

I forgot all about that....hmm if this is the direction they take Id be very very pleased

With Pixar's track record, I wouldn't mind it animated.

Thanks Hippie. I remember when I was in highschool & was asked to do a report on Tarzan by Edgar Rice Burroughs to critique the message of the story. It wasn't available but I did tell my English teacher John Carter was available. He agrred to let me do that, & I was glad I did. I think John Carter actually was the better universe or books.

^ Good.

I just realized today that Dr. Strange is the only non spinoff Stan Lee creation who dosent have a movie yet.
