We all know that those lucky enough to have a PC that can run Elder Scrolls IIII: Oblivion, have acess to hundreds of fan sites with downloadable files containing some of the best player made mods possible. Aswell you have the ability to create you own wonderful mods using the games data and create your own very speacial something to share with folks, but my question is....Why do us Xbox owners get giped? I mean I understand that most everyone accepts that you just can't, but why are we crippled so by it being a game console, its still computer technology right?
Basicaly what I'm getting at is, isint there a way that we could download mod files to our xbox hard drive just like you do with a computer? I mean you can download expansions for the game by purchasing microsoft points, those files are stored in your hard drive and interact with the game to expand it further, so why can't we somehow use that same process of technology to download our own custom files to our hard drive? It is ours right? We should be able to create our own thing and place it there without constantly having to purchase upgrades from xbox live.
Not everyone wants to go to a realm of Chaos, not everyone wants to scower a dungeon that everyone else in the world has. maybe some people want a rare, unique, and personal game play experience all of their own. Hell maybe some want to incorperate their other favorite passtimes/movies/games into oblivion, to realy customize the world to fit them. PC game owners have that ability fully, and now thanks to an inovative young man in a computer technology school, they also have the ability to play with freinds in a new multiplayer mod that he just created.
This kind of technology can not be imposible. The Xbox 360 is a computer like any other. It even has the ability to directly conect to your own computer, so why can't we transfer the same kind of files to it that Xbox live can? Or maybe even plug the system into our own kind of intranet/server that makes the system believe that it is connected to xbox live when in actuality its just a mock version that allows you to download your own personalized content/modifications. This can not be an imposibility, it simply modern technology!
Before I get anyone responding to this I want you take a look at some of the best damn Oblivion Mods I have seen for PC and please tell me, wouldn't you love to see this on you xbox?
Heres one I found that is just breath taking, its a recreation of Sauron's Armor from The Lord of the Rings.
Here is another of Many LOTR mods, the Witch King helmet
Aswell there have been those who want to incorperate the sci-genre into this amazing fantasy real, and have chosen to do so with STAR WARS! (And guessing from the hair a little Final Fantasy too)
And for some reason, as allways people are obsesed with celebrities, and now they want to have them traped inside their game! From what i understand those are real maped out versions of the faces of Halley Berry and Jessica Alba which can be used either as faces for your character, or custome NPCs.
And then there is always just the custom made designs, wether it be housing, furnishing, or in this case Samurai Armor (with detailed silk I might add)
Now please, everyone look at this and tell me, wouldn't you love to have these kind of personalized add ons on you Xbox 360? Do you still wana be left out while the PC gamers have all the fun?
