Point One

Yeah, but you knew it'd be a wasted $6. A story featuring some Nova who's not Richie, some wacky story about twins who I guess are going to be foisted upon the Avengers, some anonymous new X-Men villains who'll probably be dead or forgotten within a year, something about Ultron that probably sucks given that it's Millar working outside the confines of the Ultimate universe, Kaine getting pushed into the Scarlet Spider identity, and a preview of the increasingly terrible-looking upcoming Defenders series? That was a sucker's bet for $6 from the get-go.

The Ultron story is going to be done by Bendis not Millar.

I only got it because it was a small week for me anyways, and didn't make that big of a difference.

The Nova thing is also apparently tied to the Phoenix teaser we got a little while ago, especially since the last words he said was "It's coming."

The X-Men thing is going to be the new AoA ongoing, and all those characters are apparently AoA versions of various human villains and relatives, Pierce, Stryker, Creed, and probably daughters of Matthew Risman and Bolivar Trask.

The Kaine and random power twins things were some of the better things, but I could care less since I don't and won't read the titles they'll be in.

I also didn't really get or understand all of what went on in the Defenders and Ultron things, and they didn't do anything to pique my interest into picking them up either.

My shop ordered X-amount of copies, and Marvel sent them an additional X-amount at no extra costs... I'm assuming Marvel did this for all LCS's... so my shop only charged 1/2 price... so I got mine for $3 less 20%...

So if your shop got twice the amount they ordered for 1/2 the costs, they should have charged 1/2 off as well... sell more copies, order more #1's, make more money...

Haters!

I really enjoyed this issue. About the only story that was ho-hum for me was the Dr. Strange lead in to Defenders. Nova was not bad at all. Loeb did nothing to inspire such hatred for the story, and, about the only complaint could be that the artist makes Nova look more flashy and young. It even had a significant event, meaning the death of Terrax. That definitely hooked me.

Also, the wrap around story was done very well.

Scarlet Spider was a nice lead in to his further adventures, and I liked the X-Terminated Age Of Apocalypse style story.

I think people see Bendis and Loeb's name, and instantly go into a book with a bias, thinking it's gonna suck.

I'm hoping these are just snippets out of future comics myself. Otherwise I'll want to get ahold of that Nova story and don't want to spend $6 on it. Here's hoping Half Priced Books gets it in!

I can sell you a copy from my shop for half price... :o

:o

Well... I read it... and it was enjoyable for the most part... really sets up a lot of stuff for next year... not worth 6 bucks... but luckily, definitely worth the 3 bucks my shop charged me for it.

:yay:

A Nova Centurion fights Terrax, Terrax dies, and then it turns out it's all tied to the Phoenix's return. That's literally the entire story.

Same here. My LCS order an extra amount so if I purchased at least $10.00 worth of books I got it for $2.00. It was actually a good read. I prefered Nova, X-Terminated, and Scarlet Spider more than the rest.

I dont wanna sound like an a**hole but if this was supposed to be an indication of what to expect in 2012...I am not at all excited for anything going on at Marvel in 2012. Honestly, I think Fear Itself left a very bad taste in my mouth and I am just not very excited with anything marvel right now (well, besides Waid's DD, Rucka's Punisher, and Ultimate Spiderman).

Wow. Remember the Herald of Galactus who once lifted Manhattan and forced the Fantastic Four to attack his master? The guy who went toe to toe with the Silver Surfer?

What happened?

:ff: :ff: :ff:

The Phoenix Force destroyed his planet... Nova tried to tell him he had to leave immediately, and he basically said "**** that!!!"

So he fried.

Or did he?

:o

Didn't Terrax die somewhat recently already, like after Annihilation or something?
