This was always brought up with the Hulk and Sentinels.

Height: 28 ft. 9 in.
Weight: 18.2 tons
Eyes: Unknown
Hair: Unknown
Unusual features: Galactus's height diminishes by as much as 10.9 feet when he is greatly in need of life-giving energy.

i've never read the comics, but i think it would just be... goofy to have a human-oid-ish guy be as big as a planet floating around in outer space.... it would just look weird. i would be okay with him being normal person size, or maybe a bit bigger.

Galactus should be portrayedd as he is in the comics; a somewhat arrogant, omnipotent being. Again, MUA as a reference is perfect.

What makes Galactus the character he is, is the manner in which he's portrayed. His size is relevant because it literally makes him larger than life. Just as we see Galactus in the comics; assembling his machinery; suspended high in the sky--with neither a care or interest in the destruction and loss of life he is about to cause. His indifference to the beings and planet he is about to devour make his character. Galactus simply goes about his business as if the inhabitants don't exist. Perchance, the inhabitants do gain his attention, they will either regret annoying and delaying Galactus from his most important task of feeding his hunger or gain an audience with him--which may still prove futile considering the arrogance and indifference of Galactus.

Again, Galactus must be portrayed as he is in the comics to be successful, otherwise you wind up with yet another poorly interpreted Marvel character.

And for heaven's sake; PLEASE DON'T LET STORY AND FOX TURN GALACTUS INTO A BEYONDER LIKE CHARACTER TO PUT A HUMAN SPIN ON HIM.

I say stay true to the comics. Depending on what the big G needs would depend on his size.
that is IF Galactus is even IN ROTSS.

Exactly dude, well said. I want Galactus portrayed the way he is in the comic books. Look at most fan reactions to Doctor Doom when they toned the character down and altered his origin for the first movie, making him less like the character we know from the comic book. When translating these stories to the big screen, film companies should keep them as much like the comic book versions as possible.

As much like the comic book character as possible.

That's always the desire, and that should always be the goal. However, that said, I understand that sometimes its prudent to make concessions to the different medium. And, I'll try to remember that the target audience for the movie includes (not only, but includes) many people who have never looked at Galactus in a comic book.

I hope for gigantic.

I will puke if we get The Beyonder.

Oops. I voted wrong. I should have picked "Stay true to the comics" but I clicked on Ginormous. Ah well, nuts.

I would personally want him to be like the Alex Ross drawing. But for the majority of the film, make him like Andross and just seen as a telepathic head and hands.

What are those drawings from? Those are so amazing. Alex Ross no doubt.

Marvels #3.

They make Galactus look as though he's about 40 ft. tall.

Is that your artwork? Very Ross-like, with a hint of old-school. I like it. Great stuff.

No, that's not my artwork, it's the work of Alex Ross. I wish I could create stuff like that though. :O

Not 100 or 200 feet tall. Then he would look like Ultraman, and he is just not that tall. I would say 40 to 50 feet.

I'd say they make him look closer to 100 ft. tall. But I don't want to argue.

You could be right. Possibly 70-80 feet judging by the size of the FF. That's probably a good height for him in the film.

I agree.

Captain Stacy, Hi. I started a thread in the Spider-Man 3 spoiler forum that I would beg to direct your attention to. Thank you, Sir.

If anyone votes "normal human size" I will smack you and give your dessert to the dog. :cmad:

Nah, other way around. It would be goofy for him to be standing next to a normal human, with his elaborate and ornate costume and head gear. Think about it.

I'd say anywhere between 50 to 100 feet. I think it would be cool if his size was determined by what he just consumed, so theoretically his size could be larger than a planet if he consumed enough.

He, he, he, he's right!Don't let Fox hear this...

Both marvel directory and marvel itself lists Galactus height at about 28 ft. 9 inches. Now that is the height of about 5 men stacked one on top of the other. That is not really that difficult to portray on film. The 200 ft incarnations is really creative license that some artists adopted from time to time but 30ft is pretty tall but allows for better action scenes when the powers that be FF , Doom and Surfer have to battle him.

So I say stick with 30 ft.
