Many of you may be thinking? okay what is this guy talking about?

When you use a hose nozzle you can turn it to get different types of water shots.
i.e. Jet, shower, flat, full.

Maybe this could be used in the reboot,

spidey uses jet to swing through the city, uses flat to web up criminals.

The only thing that can prove my theory wrong is picture.

lolwat. Haven't you seen the photos of them? They aren't a hose nozzle.

While it is possible, I don't think Spidey can fit one of those bad boys under his glove :D

But that circular thing looks like it can shift, I think that would be a great idea!
Spidey would be able to do more webby stuff and there's actually an explanation! :D

It's just something I thought off, maybe he can turn the nozzle?

Oh you mean in the way that he can change the type of strand he shoots? I see now.

And honestly, I think that's ultimately what will happen. The guy who wrote the webshooter scenes said that he wrote a lot of interesting and cool stuff for it. So I definitely see this as a possibility.

You guys don't think that circular red thing in the center can move and shoot different types of web?

even the small nozzle at the end looks like it could spin ?

I wonder if peter used a watch to make this and just put it under his wrist instead of on top lol. That's what it looks like.
The size of a watch must be VERY articulate to create different web strands

Why did people assume Scott meant Peter'll literally have some hose type mechanism under his suit?

He's talking about the nozzle and how turning it will allow different types of webbing to come out.

Personally, I just don't think it'd be practical. Spider-Man is usually shown switching between webbing modes on the fly. I doubt that they would bother showing Spider-Man switching the nozzle every time he needs a different web mode.

They don't necessarily need to show it every time. Just explain the mechanism when he builds it. Besides, the only time he'd really need to change it is when he hangs dudes up as opposed to when's swinging.

But you would need to show it for it to be consistent. If it's not going to be consistent, is there really a point to doing it?

If this whole nozzle thing plays out, I wonder how it would work in the video game?

they could simply say that the triggers are pressure sensitive. Press normally and he gets a long thin web to swing from. Presses hard and the nozzle turns and allows for larger/wider webs.

This'd be the best way, imo... but I don't think they're going to explain it.

It's really hard to explain hahaha Sorry for making you guys misunderstand.

Yeah, if the shooters have any type of functionality like this, I doubt they'll explain it within the movie itself, but designers and concept artists (good ones, anyway) WILL explain/think about how things work when conceptualizing.

Forgive me for asking this, but that webbing has to come from somewhere doesn't it? Does his body "naturally" create the webbing and the shooters are just a means to control it? I know in some of the old cartoons, he had cartridges and correct me if I am wrong, but didn't he use cartridges in the 70's TV Show as well?

As to the OP's question, yes I believe that the shooters will have different "settings" for different situations. Why would you not?

In the comics and most incarnations of Spider-Man, he used his knowledge of chemistry to create a web-like formula. He houses it in small cartridges and keeps spares on his belt. The Raimi films changed this to organics (and the comics followed suit for a little while). This movie has been confirmed to NOT use the organic idea, and Spidey is back to his old, home-brewed mechanical webs.

I'm just curious as to why Peter's Dad was working on a web formula in the first place.
