the figs we saw were real... they were done to the spitting exact quality that the wizard voting ones were... theres no doubt in my mind those pics were hasbro made...

Not neccessarily. It's making the molds for the figures in order to make more of them that's expensive, not the prototypes. I'm sure that there has been lots of stuff that made it to the prototype stage, but never actually made it to production(see Toybiz's Forbush Man, Wildchild, Frog Thor, etc.). I'm sure we'll see the ones that probably did well in the vote fairly soon(FA Storm, Sunfire, Silver Samurai), but it's going to be awhile before the rest are considered to be made.

I don't know NC. I think they just didn't do wildchild and frog thor only because they would have been packin's. Same with the x-babies. Why would they want to please us with glorious pack-in's when they could just as easily not.

I think when they make full out regular figures, they do their best not to waste the molds. Toad from ML1 for example. He sticks out like a sore thumb, but they still made him into a figure because he could still sell. They don't really get money from the pack-ins other than trying to make you have more reason to by the figures. So they won't waste the plastic usually. Of course, we have had some great pack in's in our time of TB. Punisher's guns from the two-pack for example and deadpools accessories.

And they do make us want them more. But they'd rather do a BAF pack in only because that will make most people want to buy the whole wave. I'm sure I've bought at least 10 or more figures mainly for a BAF peice than the actual fig.

First of all, I just want to mention that technically they're not called molds. The figures that were shown in the Fan Choice poll were prototypes, molds are the metal things that create the different pieces of the figure for mass retail after the prototype has been finalized.

And basically this post that I found on Fwoosh, written by Ray, is why I believe that it's not guaranteed that we'll see all of these figures at some point(though I would love it if we did. Except change Gambit to Multiple Man ):

Theres a difference between figures that Have made it to prototype stage and figures that have made it to the tooling stage. While prototypes cost money to make, It's not a big deal if the figure never gets produced in terms of investment. Many, many, many, figures make it to prototype stage and never get produced. While a company would like to produce the items, it's not gonna be a huge loss if they don't at the prototype stage.

If they Have made the tooling for the figure, the steel production "molds" they inject plastic in are very expensive. Then it would be unwise for a company to tool something up then not produce it, they'd take a very large finacial hit. Some of those figures use existing bodies so i think the parts that already exist have the tooling made in that regard but everything else is still in prototype form.

like i said I think these figures were made as prototypes because they were originally supposed to be in other assortment, but got bumped out. So they had the prototypes laying around to begin with, they wern't specifically all made for this vote.
