Possible "Raven" TV Series?

I don't see why they won't allow Grayson to appear. It's not like they ever planned on using him in the Nolan films.

They should stop being *****es and let the character show up where he needs to.

If it's on CW, it won't be catering to DC Comics fans.

I was hoping DC Ent would launch some shows on Fox to complement Human Target.

Smallville has been doing great catering to DC fans these past two seasons. But since Raven isnt that big in the dc world I wouldnt expect to see a bunch of other heroes.

And with Nolans Batman coming to an end and a reboot probably following 5yrs after that, that is probably the reason why they wont let any Bat character get adapted to the small screen.

Damn, I thought "That's So Raven" was coming back.

I strongly disagree. It's very much a show for shippers.

Wrong again. Batman III will be the last one directed by Nolan but there definitely will be a Batman IV after it, with a new director succeeding Nolan. It's very unlikely they'll reboot Batman again after it became a billion dollar franchaise.

And there's no way they'll throw Batman onto the small screen. It's way too profitable as a film franchaise right now for them to ignore.

The DC characters they use on live action TV are ones they aren't confident can work on the big screen (ex: WW).

Yet Green Lantern works? And the trailer was INCREDIBLY ******. Go figure.

I think their apprehension regarding Wonder Woman on the big screen stems from the fact that she doesn't have a penis.

They seem to have more confidence in Batman, Superman, GL, Flash. I'm hoping GL doesn't tank in the box office.

Shippers for what? Hawkman/Stargirl/Legion/the multitude of dc characters that have been showing up? For a show about Clark Kent, they are doing a good job of showcasing other dc characters.

And whats to be wrong about again? Is Bale signed on for a fourth Batman? I doubt he will continue to do Batman without Nolan, might be wrong but doubt it.

Throwing in random DC characters is one thing, how they're used and in what context is another.

Smallville, like all the other CW shows, is geared towards that shipper audience. That's why as an interpretation of Superman, it's so half assed.

Nolan's upcoming Superman script will blow it to pieces.

Hawkman/Stargirl/Legion/

Thank Geoff Johns for that.

Bale never said he would abandon Batman once Nolan left. He said he'll continue with playing the character as long as the scripts remain strong and maintain the same type of level as what Goyer/J Nolan and Chris penned.

There's no doubt in my mind Warners will try to sign Bale for Batman 4. He's the recognizable face of a billion dollar franchaise. He even did McG's Terminator once they dumped cash on his doorstep.

Regardless, bottom line is that the Batman embargo is remaining tied to the Features Division at WB.

I don't you understand ''shippers." There's shippers for EVERYTHING. Not just CW shows. They are shippers for ****ing Mario Brothers video games for Christ sakes.

as a Raven fan ( primarily from the Teen Titans show ), I'm excited that she will be getting her own live action show!! :woot:

I hope that they blend her powers ( and story ) from both the animated show and the comics.

i can see malese jow being considerate since she was in VD and she is'nt a bad actress

I'll watch a Raven TV series. She's a very good character.......when they don't constantly use the being posessed by Trigon.....again storyline for the 10th time.

I'm pretty sure the it was because a show about any character in the Batman family was felt by the producers (Christopher Nolan and Co.) would influence the turnout and appeal of the current Batman film franchise. Smallville kind of has the same effect on the Superman franchise even to the point where concepts/effects used in the series were implemented in the film, and there were a good number of people who were dissappointed when the lead actor (Tom Welling) was not the main character in "Superman Returns". It is no surprise to me that "Smallville" is now comming to an end as the production of the next Superman film is ramping up.

I think Smallville would be coming to an end regardless of any new Superman movie. It's been 10 years which is a nice round number to go out on.

i really hope every DC live action tv series doesnt go straight to CW. This is gonna end up like vampire diaries or something.

That is my guess why the CW choose raven, Demons are the new vampires I guess.

Please. Raven will turn out just fine if its anything like Supernatural or The Vampire Diaries.

Yep.

The CW contrary to what Smallville, 90210, Gossip Girl, Hellcats, etc would tell you does have a few gems in Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, and Nikita.

I think most people don't bother giving The Vampire Diaries a chance because of The CW's awful marketing. Every single preview is full of romance, kissing, sex, , etc. Hell, I didn't even give the show a chance until after the first season ended; and only because a fellow Supernatural fan recommended it.

Raven, depending on the way the character/show is written, can turn out good. Especially it follows in SPN's and TVD's example. The question is, will it?

Edit: Besides, didn't the showrunner do some work on Buffy: The Vampire Slayer and Angel? That alone gives me some hope for the project.

I think they have done a much better job markeying TVD, the promos have been great this season. Smallville has stepped up its game these past two seasons and 90210 could be better if they didnt rely on relationships for every storyline and explore the characters friendships, personal lives, and give them actual parents.

I actually think Raven is a really good candidate for a TV show. I could see it being a mix between something like Supernatural and Charmed, with Raven leaving Azarath to live on Earth and fight of the hordes of Trigon.

Of course due to budget, they will be played by humans in elaborate makeup and the occasional CG effect.

I hope they don't have her wearing jeans and a t-shirt or some crap like that

Well, I'm sure they probably won't have her running around in her comic book costume since that would be even more silly.
