You might wanna edit that Socko.

He's not doing anything against the rules. It's incredibly disturbing however.

well it's " incredibly disturbing" that's why it should be edit.

Definitely all for a mask-less Batman. I always loved how it looked. Sad the closest we got to it is the ******ed look in BR and a back-shot in BB. :(

Batman: Year Two Sage?

Last one is from Batman: Monster and Men

First two are from a recent three issue run from Legends of the Dark Knight 201-203.

I'm sure MJZ will give his nod to this one:

This would be cool for an intro sequence somewhat like Spider-Man:

I'd argue we've seen the Bermejo one a bit, since Bale does remind me of his Batman, particularly the picture of him crouching. Plus his Bruce Wayne looks like Bale too.

Actually I was referring to Batman viewing a lit up Gotham at night. As clearly depicted in my post if you look again. :o

Sage: From which comic is the 2nd one?

Can't remember actually. It's been sitting in a folder of mine for at least a year.

Oh my bad, I thought you had included all of the pics, LOL.

But I love that picture. It's Batman to me in every shape and form.

^I really love the second pic there. I think it would really look cool from the viewpoint of a criminal looking at Batman's silhouette while he's crouched in that position in front an extremely illuminated source of light (such a spotlight or a big open window in a pitch black dark warehouse or something) with his cape billowing gracefully.

Grendal does some neat stuff, it's too bad he doesn't post here anymore.

Before anyone yells realism, parts of Washington D.C. and NYC is lit darker.
...did anyone else chuckle at this? ROTFLMAO.

I had no qualms about how BB was lit. Most of the time he was backlit, so you could see him, but you couldn't really make out anything besides a dark form slightly resembling a man in a cowl and cape.

I thought the cinematography was gorgeous, and one of the best things about BB. I think it was helped partly because Batman would actually took out goons guerilla-style, and not just nonchalantly walk up to them. That was one thing in the previous movies that always always annoyed me, shadowy lighting nonwithstanding. :p I mean, yeah, goons are dumb, but they're THAT stupid.

The dock scene and the scene where Batman hides while Crane plans to set fire to the teddy bears.

Those are the only two times where Batman looked vaguely like a creature and couldn't make him out. Otherwise, he was clear as day. Take the part when Batman visited Gordon at his house. Wow. Talk about plain sight. :o

I'd say all the locales besides Gotham looked amazing. Basically the first half with the icy landscape. It looked beautiful. The only time I was impressed with Gotham is that short segment with Batman high above a tower looking out at Gotham in the midst of sunrise. I want to see more of that from Nolan.

I thought Gotham, or particularly the Narrows, was excellent. Very Blade Runner-ish look.

I admit, it looked unique. No current films really have used the golden hue for cinematography. To my knowledge, Blade Runner and the Godfather trilogy are the only familiar ones.

Nonetheless, I think Nolan should either darken up the gold, or go with a different tone. As is, even the night scenes looked bright, which was very weird to me in Batman film.

Maybe not with this franchise, but I'd like to see a director take a shot at a more muted color pallette, to really display Gotham as this dark hellhole.

I think the problem is not the color palette. Nolan should just try playing more with the shadows like he did during the Narrows house and Arkham scenes and it's pretty much perfect.
