The Dark Knight Post Pictures Of Things You Really Want To See In 'The Dark Knight'

Quick question...

Why do so many people want to see on film a "comic book" adaptation of Batman, based more or less on certain stories that they have previously seen, rather than have something new and different, that still manages to stay "true" to the character(s)?

I mean, shouldn't the point of a Batman movie be to further develop the character(s) and the story in various ways, thus allowing for different interpretations of this mythos, like all the different comic books do? You have different writers that come up with different ideas and concepts to, in a sense, keep the character(s) "up to date" with the rest of the world and present it in their own ways.

It might be because I'm not as much of a "fan" as most people on these boards are, but I like to believe you can change characters visually and make them take slightly different "paths" in the story and still end up with the same great characters that we know and love... or hate. I honestly like the idea of recreating Batman on some aspects and see more of a "personal" style emerge... of course, since the primary goal of movies is to make money, that will never happen.

... am I still making sense? :O

You stay out of my head!

 OMG! That's f*%$ing hillarious!!!!!!!!!

For a minute there I thought you were going to post the entire graphic novel.

Got me all excited for nothing...

Haha sorry, but those panels almost have the same lighting style that nolan and co used for Begins...I willing to bet this book inspired Nolan for this film

If I really liked Year One, The Long Halloween and Dark Victory would I like The Man Who Laughs, too? I'd be interested in reading that...

I personally have not read the man who laughs, just an indepth synopsis. It was written as a sequel to year one. I am planning on buying it as soon as I get home

I liked a lot "The Man who Laugh" is like a sequel of "Batman: Year One".

BmAaTn3625 those pages from 'the man who laughs' will be a great way to start off 'the Dark Knight' movie.

And for those who haven't read the book, it's a pretty good outing of the first encounter of Batman and the Joker. the thing is it's outof print, so you have to find it on E-Bay (like I did)

I wish they also take care of Commisioner Loeb the way it was handle in YEAR ONE, with Batman expsoing a scandal that links Loeb to Falcone and his crime syndicate with some of Gothans weathly. This will spearhear Gordan to be commisioner.

BmAaTn3625 vbmenu_register("postmenu_9832325", true); those panels right there are totally what I want to see in the next movie. It'd work so perfectly for the beginning. Like as soon as Batman takes off, Gordon gets a call to come and check out a crime scene at the Narrows, then he finds the bodies, he calls Batman in, and Batman tries to find this mysterious Red Hood character, he locates him at the plant, he jumps into the vat of chemicals. Gordon believes he died of a suicide jumping into the vat, but Batman believes that the man is far from dead.

Then, word spreads that more of the same deaths are occurring and both Gordon and Batman already know who is the man behind the deaths.

that scene appearing in 'The Dark Knight' would be awesome, though i doubt warners would allow it, as it would bump up the rating and make it alot less family freindly, be great for an extended cut dvd though. :)

Why would it bump up the rating? Considering when it was actually filmed, they can do a lot with the bodies hidden in shadows and also imply more than the show, I definitely think they could get away with it in PG-13. I've seen much worse in PG-13 films anyhow.

firstly i wouldent want them hidden in the shadows too much, as for the rating, i really believe a scene like that would bump it up, saying that i've seen films recently with graphic scenes and they've remained a 12A (i think your american version is pg-13)

Why? Gordon walking through, illuminating these bodies with a flashlight? That's really eerie. Much more eerie than having everything illuminated and in full view.
