The Dark Knight Potential Domain Names

I've been domain name sniffing and I had about decided we had found all the available ones so far. According to the Wiki there are 32 sites. There are a couple that are just redirects( Takebackgotham.com, Takebackgothamcity.com and ccfabg.com) and are not on the same server as the other sites. Anyway if you use some reverse IP tools on the Internet you'll find that you won't be able to find all the sites hosted on it. However, if you pay a subscription fee to Domain Tools you'll be able to see them all. I'm cheap so I'm not going to do it, but I did notice one thing with the free version. If you give Domain Tools the server address (69.20.12.248) using the link below, you'll notice that they are listing 33 sites. Yes, I know they only give you the first 3 sites that we already know of, but it does list "30 more..."

The only other site I've come across that even comes close finding all of them is http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/web-sites-on-web-server/ and it only lists 22.

Anyway, looks like there might be one more active site out there we haven't found yet. If anybody is willing to pay for the Domain Tools service, they may just find it.

To keep this thread going and on topic, I would only talk about potential site names. That means ones that are listed as Domain by Proxy and parked at GoDaddy.com.

www.cityofgotham.com is parked at GoDaddy, and the whois checks out for Domains by Proxy and the right address and everything. Problem is, the date that it was registered is pretty old. Sorry I can't re-post right now, but you can see the info in the sticky thread ^ where someone helpfully posted how to do a "whois".

In the real world, a city web site would not be .org, it would be .gov. Normally .org is for charitable or otherwise non-commercial, non government (.gov), non-school (.edu) web sites. Others have said cityofgotham.com shows all the right things (Domains by Proxy, parked at Go Daddy), but it's apparently been parked there for two years. I wonder if it is possible 42 reserved it back during BB just to be sure no fans used it, you think? If not, who parks a domain for two years without doing anything with it?

I think if a page is older than from 2007, it's a good bet that it's not official.

Please note though i was unable to check the references as to whether it is legit, seeing as i...*cough* dont know how *cough*...so please do excuse me if this has indeed been talked about, debunked, or otherwise.

The Domains by Proxy work looks promising, but I'm still skeptical. The registration date is May 1, four days after the Jokerized reel was released. 42 isn't that slow. If this were legit, I'm thinking they would have reserved that long in advance of releasing something that blatantly spelled it out. As of now, I'd say someone got the information like we did and simply used Domains by Proxy to purchase the space.

Either way, there's no point in having a thread on a placeholder. When and if this thing goes live, we'll surely know about it.
