Powers: Dos and Don'ts

Some of you think Matter Manipulation, reshaping objects or matter might be a cool power but my theory now is that there is one hero that might have it already and he show in the season finale. The hero I am thinking of is the sword shop owner. He has some connection to the sword and Hiro's father.

Sylar is now able to melt matter into goo. Maybe he can modify that power to allow reshaping of matter also. He does know "how things work".

I'd like to see someone with the power of growing into a giant, like Hank Pym.

I wouldn't like to see someone with the power of whipping their tongue around in a fight, like toad in X-Men. Where'd he keep that huge thing tucked away? How was he able to even talk?

They need Hiro to kill a crap load of people. Everyone else is in slow motion. And since he can manipulate space, have some telekinetic power where he would whip his sword around a room slicing people in half.

The end of sylar.

sylar is a dick, biggest cop out of a finale ever

^I hate that i have a character who has the exact same power.
:(
Now everyone is going to think I'm ripping it off of Hiro. :cmad:

A Juggernaut-type unstoppable character would be good, IMO; above and beyond Nikki's level of strength (but let's not get too far out with the strength).

I think someone who can increase the gravity around another person (crushing them, pinning them to the ground, whatever) could have potential too.

An electricity-based character is an obvious choice as well. Can't believe they haven't used one already.

what about, some type of a heat beam, laser, blaster
(the heat vision, eye blast, seem over done, like Cyclops and superman, but, maybe palm of the hand or finger tip, could be cool)

I'd like to see at least one new highly visual, as well as offensive, power. Something flashy and cool, but not over the top, like Ted had. Perhaps someone with power over electricity?

Would having the ability to grow, like Hank Pym, be too over the top?

Not over the top, but larger than life. (Ba-dum-ching!)

Electricity could be pretty cool... I like that they've had powers related to specific incidents or conditions in the character's lives, as well as to their personalities/tempraments... I think if they keep that up, a large number of powers become acceptable, even if they seem distasteful at first (ie self-duplication).

I also think some powers from comic books don't make sense from that angle, and some don't make any sense at all, even from a ficitonal standpoint.

I'd like to see an Absorbing Man-type character on the show.

I'd like to see someone with a "useless" power like changing the colors of items, and see how it could actually be used in interesting ways..

You mean like Cypher from New Mutants?

how bout a new group of heroes that can controll the elements
-water
-fire
-wind
-earth

and a cool colosus(think i spelled it wrong) character.

The one's I'd like to see are:

1. Probability Manipulation: Ability to alter probability, causing unlikely things to happen or likely things to not happen.

2. Umbrakinesis: The ability to control darkness. Usually manifests in being able to hide in darkness, teleport through shadows, create constructs out of darkness

3. Pheromone Manipulation: Pretty self explanatory.

I think those would be really cool to see on the show.

LIKE THE SECOND ONE SOUNDS COOL.

Obviously there are going to more heroes with abilities of their own, so what powers would you like to see?

Super speed. They have to have it, plus I want to see a Flash like character on the show! :woot:

Wouldn't mind seeing some powers which aren't exactly beneficial, like with Ted's problems.

Speed is a good one. I'd also like to see some form of heat vision, or ice based powers.

I also hope we're introduced to an actual mutated mutant - someone with an actual physical deformity.

sylar has ice based powers that he got probably from one of molly's parents. and i dont think they would ever really go with the mutated mutant, that would be sick if they had a beast type character but i doubt it bc that would take away from the real feel there going for.

They could do a beast-based power, and if they did, he wouldnt be blue. I could see the power as the person becomes more primal-ish, hairier, large sharper teeth, enhanced senses. It could work, just keep it as a natural hair color.

Yes, he made a little snow fall to simulate a snow globe, but I'm talking Iceman-level powers.

Also, we have yet to see REAL super strength.

I'm really pushing for heat vision, though.

I don't know what it be called but for right now I'll call it Physiolepathy until I find out the right word.

Like someone who can basically just touch a building and know the entire blueprints of the place.

Nikki has super streangth..

Omni-linguism
Ability to understand any form of language. This can be accomplished in various ways.

Omniscience
Ability to know anything and everything
(I would use this power with a character that is just comic relief, cause if you have someone who wants to help, the show would be over in an episode. And the way Peter or Sylar doesn't get this, the guy could always avoid either of them by the fact that he knows what will happen or if Peter tries to copy the power... it is too much for him to handle knowing everything)

Gravity manipulation
Ability to manipulate or generate gravitons, or other types of gravitational interactions.
(It's different and not the 'every' power that people get in these shows)

Power negation
Ability to cancel the superpowers of others.

Acid generation
Ability to generate acid, can be manifested through touch or as a spray
(for the poster who said something not helpful like Ted... this one wouldn't be able to do much of anything)

Invulnerability
Ability to be immune to one or more forms of physical damage or injury.
(not like Claire's healing. This guy would barely ever get hurt, but when he did it would be very bad for him)

Meh, that's my list made off of comic book powers on wikipedia. Those are just ones that I thought would be cool to see and not the usual stuff.
