Prima Games, a division of Random House, Inc, announced today that it has signed an official and exclusive publishing partnership with Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games.

“Capcom has a great reputation for creating some of the most storied franchises in video game history,” said Debra Kempker, president of Prima Games. “We look forward to brining these franchises to video game fans through guides, comics, and other published works.”

Working closely with other Random House imprints, Prima Games will create a full publishing program based on Capcom’s new and existing franchises. Strategy guides are at the heart of the deal, but other publications will include original graphic novels, video game novelizations, calendars, and more.

“Random House has an 80-year history of publishing excellence,” said Tommy Yoshida, vice president of licensing for Capcom Entertainment, Inc. “By working with one of the largest trade publishers in the world, we are excited about the unlimited potential of our greatly expanded publishing program.”

In addition to working on iconic Capcom franchises such as Resident Evil®, Mega Man®, and Devil May Cry®, Prima will also be publishing the strategy guide, original graphic novel and video game novelization for Capcom-owned Shade™. Legendary comic writer Marv Wolfman (creator of New Teen Titans and Blade) is set to pen both the original graphic novel and video game novelization.
