Problem with Season 2

I'm not that taken with Hiro in S2. First, he stayed in feudal Japan WAY too long, and he screwed up the continuum (and turned Adam to the dark side) with his obsession with the Princess. And he tried (unsuccessfully) to save his father, now trying to take on Peter without telling him Adam's intention with the virus. Last season Hiro was all naive and full of wonders, but I'm a bit tired of him this season.
i don't think Hiro changed the future at all.

There is no problem with Season 2. Season 2 is great. The fact that ratings have dropped doesn't mean that the quality is worse. The only problem this show has had is the first season finale.

He didn't mess up anything, he was kensi the whole time not adam. Adam was going to turn evil no matter what.

I don't think Hiro changed anything. I think he was always going to go back into the past and screw things up and turn Adam bad (or Adam was always going to be bad).
Hiro isn't the same this season though. They need to turn him back into the joyfull comic book geek he was, only now he is a little more experienced but not totally different. I think the past stuff should have been very short. He travels back, acts as Kensai, think he turned him good, travels back home to find his father dead. Maybe they could have even spead up the whole him accidentally turning Kensai evil thing.
I just think they are spending way too much time on things.
Like the whole Peter stuff, they could have spead it way up so that ealier we would find out Peter was working with Adam. (they could have also left more hints at that from the beginning.) Also the whole Maya and Syler stuff seems to be slow too.
If they had just used the whole Months Ago plot, showing what happened from Season 1's end to Season 2's start (where DL dies and Peter saves Nathan) as the starting point and took their time developing the plot and characters it would be way more interesting. That one episode could have been maybe half or at least several episodes in the beginning of season 2.

Then again, some things are going too fast and not getting enough focus at all. They should have developed the character of Adam at the same time as Kensai, maybe without showing him till later though. Then when we see who Adam is finally we are shocked to see it is Kensai. Also should have started the whole killing of founders at a smaller scale. maybe he could have started with some unknown company founders from the picture. Like what was mentioned earlier. Things needed to tie intogether more and more gracefully too. Made everything connected somehow.
I also miss the whole comic thing, showing the scene and then the comic panel or vise versa. And the whole DNA symbol everywhere thing. These things tied stuff together too.

I found myself being annoyed by alot of stuff going on this season.
The whole Claire and West stuff (which is something else they spend too much time on) wasn't good until just recently when HRG and West finally met and ended up being more intersting as a couple than West and Claire. Also having Claire get angry at her father was a repeate of last season, and didn't she already know her father did that stuff? I thought she found out when the human bomb and Matt broke into her home and held HRG hostage.

I remember hearing that Season 2 would have more new cast members and others would be killed off. I think that would have been the way to go. Having several stories end with season one, like Niki and DL or maybe even Nathan and Peter. They should have at least let Peter stay dead for half of season 2. Let people think he and Nathan's story was over. Then brought him back in a big secret surprise.
They said that they wanted to kill off or end lots of stories in order to keep their world small and dangerous. But maybe they caved thinking fans would miss their favorite characters, or maybe they intended to kill off characters along the way but the writers strike happened.
It does seem like the whole season is over way faster than it should have been. It seems like the season is only half over, and it seems like there is way too much story to end it now.
I remember there was a period last season where they were off for like a month. I think alot of the problems probably extend from the writers strike. I think they should just take a break for about a month and waite to see if the strike ends soon.

It started out interesting enough, but I think one of the main flaws is them taking way too much time developing things that aren't interesting or progressing the story.

I guess we can always hope for season three, it sounds like Kring and everyone else knows there are major problems and probably know how to fix them. I even heard Milo mention that he feels they have taken the show in the wrong direction and that it isn't faire to the fans or the show.

My biggest beef with this season was the revelation that D.L. survived the confrontation with Sylar, only to get offed by some other punk. Is a bullet the only thing he can't phase through? Either way, that was an unecessary elaboration :o .

I think problems of season 2 closely mirror the problems LOST had last season in which they wanted to include new characters and storylines , at the expense of returning character's. Nikki is tame, Surresh flip flops between sides, Nathan has been virtually absent, Maya and her brother seem to take up space , Bob seems to been in every scene as opposed to the way Linderman was, and interesting characters Adam and Kristen Bell seem to shine toward the end of the season.
